The Justice Department is considering letting the FBI investigate Americans without evidence of wrongdoing, relying on a terrorist profile that could single out Muslims, Arabs or other racial and ethnic groups, the Associated Press reported.
The proposed policy would help root out terrorists before they strike, officials with the FBI and Justice Department told the AP. More than a half-dozen officials spoke to the AP on condition of anonymity because they were not allowed to speak publicly or because the change is not final. President Bush has disavowed targeting suspects based on race or ethnicity, but the new rules would allow the FBI to consider those factors among other traits.

It's about time law enforcement was allowed to do their job without some pansy as*s politician or ACLU moron breathing down their neck or telling them how to do their job. Hopefully this is allowed full force and it sheds all the light of the world on the truth of who really is causing the terrorism in this world, it isn't the Christians!~
I have to wonder how true this is, and what the anonymous source's motivation is for leaking the information.
The ACLU thinks they are the jack of all trades. The think they can tell everyone how to do their jobs.

Hopefull it is true. Maybe a liberal leaked it, to get all the liberals to attack McCain. To try and say he is for these policies.

First I have to agree with an earlier post questioning the truth of this proposal from "anonymous" sources. We all know how reliable they can be. And many in the government have their own agenda's for "social" change!
Second, I doubt any president would be fool enough to isolate anyone due to religion, unless its a president who could care less about religion & only care about the collectivist policies of a socialist government that could impose its will on all based on "the good of the collective, even if it means taking away the rights of the individual."
Religion practiced by radicals could lead to terrorist activities. But that is not religion, its theological & social indoctrination to create zealots!

Islam started as a religion. Slowley, it became a way of life, becasue no religion dictates such horrible babaric doctorines (killing instructions) against humans.
Now, it is a combination of political way of life sect.
They will reject that after carful consideration.
Profiling, or the use of statistics on age/skin color/ethnicity/sex in refining search for criminals is and has always been SMART POLICE WORK.
The backlash against this tactic, especially in New Jersey where people of color in Newark and Elizabeth have a much higher incidence of criminal behavior than whites and where the State Police targeted people of color in certain age groupings in highway checks, was driven by the apologist of the Left, who insist that this is racism. Many of these apologists of the Left are the Publishers and Editors of the state's newspapers.
I'm glad this is being done but why must they blab these plans to the press. Now the ACLU and every other civil libertarian and leftist group will try to put a stop to it. Law enforcement must be discreet when doing what we know is necessary.

As much as I would agree with this a few things come to mind not in this order but right off the top of my head... such people as them would just would just lie. or after 1 or 2 times of the courts being challenged the government that went threw all the motions spending big tax dollars will then think better of it at the last min change the rules ...they talk the talk but don't walk the walk. now on the other hand this info one day could be used as the bible warns us that christians & the church will be sought out and persecuted.so could this be our own trap? I love my country it is my government I fear!

I think they mean more of monitoring Mosques and pro-Hezbollah rallies, then asking what people their religion is. As you said, they can just lie. Right now Mosques are a safe haven for them. I read the EU was working on legislation to monitor all Mosques also. The sooner the better.

Saudi Arabia has so much money, they can buy anything they want and they get anything they want. By producing so many children they want in this way to become the majorety. Besides living in America I have lived a long time in Europe, the changes going on there is unbelievable. I have lived in the Far East and I have lived for 2 years in a Moslim country. The fear, I heard from people in the Philippines, talking about the Moslims. Do we ever hear an apology from the Moslims, when a teriible act have been commited in the name of their Allah.
Please Western governments buy those people who want to live by the book of Islam a ticket to their native country and ship their belongings too. It will be cheaper than fighting a long bloody war.
I would not be surprised if their are a lot of Moslims who would like to escape of this so called religion, but were afraid to do so. May be there should be a vote by the American People about deportation.
Also all foreigners coming here legal or illegal, when a child is born it should get the citizenship of the parents. To many problems are being created by them getting the citizenship of the country where they are born. It is being used as a tool to get into this country. Europe is having the same problem.
