An American journalist in Iran has been sentenced to eight years in jail for spying for the US against Iran. But do not worry about the woman as Obama is on top of this. Fearless Obama has stated that he is "deeply disappointed". Is this conviction part of the "mutual respect" that Obama has called for with the Muslim world?

TEHRAN, Iran – Iran convicted an American journalist of spying for the United States and sentenced her to eight years in prison, her lawyer said Saturday, complicating the Obama administration's efforts to break a 30-year-old diplomatic deadlock with Tehran.

The White House said President Barack Obama was "deeply disappointed" by the conviction, while the journalist's father told a radio station his daughter was tricked into making incriminating statements by officials who told her they would free her if she did.

It was the first time Iran has found an American journalist guilty of espionage — a crime that can carry the death penalty.

Roxana Saberi, a 31-year-old dual American-Iranian citizen, was arrested in late January and initially accused of working without press credentials. But earlier this month, an Iranian judge leveled a far more serious allegation, charging her with spying for the United States.

The Fargo, North Dakota native had been living in Iran for six years and had worked as a freelance reporter for several news organizations including National Public Radio and the British Broadcasting Corp.

The journalist's Iranian-born father, Reza Saberi, told NPR that his daughter was convicted Wednesday, two days after she appeared before an Iranian court in an unusually swift one-day closed-door trial. The court waited until Saturday to announce its decision to the lawyers, he said.

Saberi's father is in Iran but was not allowed into the courtroom to see his daughter, who he described as "quite depressed." He said she denied the incriminating statements she made when she realized she had been tricked but "apparently in the case they didn't consider her denial."

Saberi's lawyer, Abdolsamad Khorramshahi, told The Associated Press he would "definitely appeal the verdict."

U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton said the United States was working with Swiss diplomats in Iran to get details about the court's decision and to ensure Saberi's well-being. She said in a statement the United States will "vigorously raise our concerns" with the Iranian government.

The United States has called the charges against Saberi baseless, and the State Department said Thursday that Iran would gain U.S. good will if it "responded in a positive way" to the case.

Here is his response where he tries to spin it like he implemented sharia banking because he is a good Christian and not for the money. I do not know how this man lives with himself. Then in an effort to try and justify to what he is doing, he tries to equate Islam to Christianity and even defends Mohammad the terrorist!

Thanks for your feedback – always interesting to see your blog entries, which I am reading “religiously”.

If you read the article carefully, you will note that I am actually promoting Catholic values by publicly embracing my religious beliefs and the principle of tolerance to others who are different.

As to Islam persecuting Christianity, every religious group has its extremists; that doesn’t mean the whole religion is bad. Two “Christians” murdered two British soldiers in Northern Ireland over the weekend in the name of Catholicism versus Protestantism. Leaving aside the fact that a true Christian cannot murder, and that murder is contrary to the Ten Commandments and Jesus’ prime injunction to love they neighbor as thyself, their actions (or assertions) would not mean that all Catholics are evil murderers. Similarly, just because Bin Laden and Zawahiri asserted that Muslims can be suicide bombers and still be good Muslims, it doesn’t take away the fact that Mohammad condemned suicide of every flavor as 100% evil.

My response to his spin was this.

You didn't ban alcohol, the Christmas party and bring in sharia banking to be "tolerant". You did it because you put your Muslim customers above everyone else. Obviously one of the VP's of the bank (Amjad Quadri) had a say in this. Banning the alcohol and party just shows how intolerant Muslims can be. The problem is that you are helping advance a religion that is not in line with American values.

As far as Islam goes, you are tolerating an intolerant religion. Please stop trying to compare Christians to all the problems that Muslims are causing across the world. Are those murders supposed to offset the way Christians are treated in Islamic countries?

Those "suicide" bombers are really homicide bombers, don't let your Muslim buddies play word games with you. As for Mohammad the man was a rapist, paedophile and a terrorist himself. Islam allows murder, rape, lying and the extortion of non-Muslims. The whole religion is based on deception. When it comes to Islam homicide bombers are just part of the problem as political Islam is an even bigger threat to life as we know it. Our way and their way do not mix and things are going to get a lot worse as they are slowly changing the West to suit Islam. Sharia banking just helps them move on to their next demand.

All business is profit driven, as it should be. If there was no profit, there would be no jobs. Without jobs there is only abject poverty and misery. In your perfect world we'd all be poor and penniless? Are you a communist?

As I mentioned previously, it’s true that our bank is targeting Muslims for Islamic Banking however, at the Kroger I walked down the aisle with the supermarket’s international food aisle, and I saw the following ethnic food:
Mexican
French
Southern
Kosher
Italian
Middle Eastern
Chinese
Thai
Etc.
It was evident to me that Kroger is attempting to increase sales by offering a variety of products. We are doing the same. But my personal motive is not only profit driven and without profits my bank could not exist, but based on my Catholic values of tolerance.

If I said that your motives were because you are an intolerant bigot, you'd be offended. Please don't offend me by telling me what my motives are. You don't have a clue, obviously, when you contradict what I say about my own motives, as if you know better!

Certainly, we can agree that homicidal or suicidal bombers are evil and must be stopped. We can lower the number of such bombers who target our citizen soldiers overseas by demonstrating our tolerance and love of the other. Tolerating those who are intolerant - that is the Christian way!! Are you not a Christian?

Helping integrate the Islamic community in the U.S. (2.4 million fellow citizens) into our banking system helps our country and demonstrates the inherent strength of our values. We should never forget that we are fighting two wars – lives of soldiers are at stake. We won The Cold War by winning “hearts and minds” not through force of arms. Throwing around statements as you do about what you assert Mohammad "was" - your views are decidedly not mainstream - is totally counterproductive to winning "hearts and minds"! If you spew out such hatred it doesn't make the world a better place (or safer).

How would you feel if some idiot called Jesus a rule breaking criminal who espoused overthrow of the Roman and Jewish states? Instead Jesus instructs us to turn the other check to be slapped again, if someone fairly or unfairly slaps you on your cheek. That's tolerance!

PORT-OF-SPAIN, Trinidad – Presidents Barack Obama and Hugo Chavez, Venezuela's socialist leader, met Friday and shook hands on the sidelines of a summit of their hemisphere's democracies.

Obama walked across a hotel meeting room to meet Chavez for the first time, said a senior U.S. administration official who witnessed it and spoke on condition of anonymity to discuss the details of the event. The official said Obama initiated the encounter.

Chavez has been a fierce critic of the United States during President George W. Bush's tenure.

"It was very, very short," the official said of Friday's meeting. "The president shook his hand, smiled and then went back to his position in the line."

The encounter comes as Obama softens U.S. policy against Cuba, a Chavez ally.

Photos released by the Venezuelan government show the two smiling and Obama touching Chavez on the shoulder. Other photos show them with clenched hands in the room next to the main summit ballroom while the heads of state and government were waiting in line to enter the opening ceremony.

The Venezuelan presidency also said Obama initiated the handshake and quoted Chavez as telling Obama he hopes for better relations between their nations.
The Venezuelan's office reported Chavez told Obama: "With this same hand I greeted Bush eight years ago. I want to be your friend."

Obama's comments were limited to saying that he wanted to introduce himself to Chavez, the U.S. official said. The Obama official would not comment on what Chavez told the U.S. president.

But when a reporter asked if the Venezuelan account of what happened was accurate, the Obama official said: "I wouldn't dispute that."

As recently as last week, Chavez expressed a desire to "reset" relations with Washington.

NY Based Islamic Hate Group Exposed!!~Videos

As we can see by the picture the NY based Islamic Thinkers Society is once again spewing their hatred of non-Muslims. As they are calling for Muslims not to befriend Jews or Christians. But they did not just come up with this line of thinking out of thin air. It is commanded from the Koran verse 5:51, which tells Muslims not to be friends with Jews or Christians.

This is not the first time that they have spewed their hate. In 2008 they attended the NYC Gay Parade which was held in pouring rain. At one point they tell a gay man that he has to learn how to interact with people. But later in the video while chanting Allah Akbar they call on Allah to strike the gays down with lightening.



Later during the parade they call gays inhumane animals and at the end of the video they try to make it like they are doing the gays a favor by preaching to them.



In 2006 this same group held a rally in from of the Israel consulate in NYC and chanted that the "mushroom cloud is on its way" and the "real Holocaust is on its way". At end of the hate fest they tell the FBI, CIA and HLS to "burn in hell".



Back in 2005 the ITS took to the streets to trample all over our flag while swearing their allegiance to Allah.



Once again we see American Muslims causing the same problems that Muslims are causing across the world. What Islam brings to the world is hate and division.

WASHINGTON – The EPA on Friday declared that carbon dioxide and five other greenhouse gases sent off by cars and many industrial plants "endanger public health and welfare," setting the stage for regulating them under federal clean air laws.

The action by the Environmental Protection Agency marks the first step toward requiring power plants, cars and trucks to curtail their release of climate-changing pollution, especially carbon dioxide from the burning of fossil fuels.

EPA Administrator Lisa Jackson said while the agency is prepared to move forward with regulations under the Clean Air Act, the Obama administration would prefer that Congress addressed the climate issue through "cap-and-trade" legislation limiting pollution that can contribute to global warming.

Limits on carbon dioxide and the other greenhouse gases would have widespread economic and social impact, from requiring better fuel efficiency for automobiles to limiting emissions from power plants and industrial sources, changing the way the nation produces energy.

In announcing the proposed finding, Jackson said the EPA analysis "confirms that greenhouse gas pollution is a serious problem now and for future generations" and warrants steps to curtail it.

While EPA officials said the agency may still be many months from actually issuing such regulation, the threat of dealing with climate change by regulation could spur some hesitant members of Congress to find another way to address the problem.

"The (EPA) decision is a game changer. It now changes the playing field with respect to legislation," said Rep. Ed Markey, D-Mass., whose Energy and Commerce subcommittee is crafting broad limits on greenhouse emissions. "It's now no longer doing a bill or doing nothing. It is now a choice between regulation and legislation."

Sen. Barbara Boxer, D-Calif., chair of the Environment and Public Works Committee responsible for climate legislation, said EPA's action is "a wake-up call for Congress" — deal with it directly through legislation or let the EPA regulate.
Friday's action by the EPA triggered a 60-day comment period before the agency issues a final endangerment ruling. That would be followed by a proposal on how to regulate the emissions.

The agency said in its finding that "in both magnitude and probability, climate change is an enormous problem" and that carbon dioxide and five other gases "that are responsible for it endanger public health and welfare within the meaning of the Clean Air Act."

The EPA concluded that the science pointing to man-made pollution as a cause of global warming is "compelling and overwhelming." It also said tailpipe emissions from motor vehicles contribute to climate change.

Geert Wilders, the far-right Dutch MP, has announced that he will make a sequel to his 17-minute anti-Qur'an film Fitna, which sparked protests from Muslims around the world last year and saw him banned from entering the UK.

"This is the next phase," the Freedom party leader told De Telegraaf yesterday, adding that his followup to the controversial short was intended to warn against the threat that Islam, in his view, posed to free speech. He said that the film would probably be finished next year.

Fitna – the title is an Arabic word that denotes a "test of faith" – criticised the Qur'an as a "fascist book" and interspersed images of the September 11 terrorist attacks with verses from the holy book. It was released on the internet in English and Dutch versions in March last year and screened to politicians and public figures around the globe as part of what Wilders labelled a "Facing Jihad world tour".

The film led to angry condemnation from groups as diverse as the Muslim Council of Britain and Al-Qaida, which issued a fatwa calling for his assassination. He was due to show it at the House of Lords in February but the Home Office refused him entry because his opinions "threaten community harmony and therefore public safety".

Wilders, whose party currently has nine out of the 150 seats in the Dutch parliament, said the new film would also examine the impact of Muslim immigration on Europe and the United States. "We should be more on the offensive instead of the defense," Wilders told Reuters, but added that the film is not meant to offend Muslims.
