OZ:Muslim Gang Actor Jailed for Violence

The Muslim actor who played a Lebanese gang leader in the movie The Combination was arrested on an assault charge, which was in retaliation for a previous street brawl. I guess that the movie could of been called a biography.

Crime actor jailed for violence
ONE of the stars of a new Australian movie about gang violence will be in jail when the film premieres next month.

Ali Haider, 19, who stars in The Combination, is facing a charge of assault occasioning actual harm.

He was refused bail in Sydney's Central Local Court on Friday, the movie's writer George Basha confirmed.

As Haider appeared via video link from Parklea prison, Basha was in court to offer his support, along with director David Field and producer John Pirrie.

Basha said the assault charge was in relation to a street brawl in Sydney's CBD late last year.
Haider has been in custody since mid-November.

Basha said Haider's lawyers had reviewed CCTV footage of the incident and were confident he would be released.

But that won't happen before his next scheduled court hearing on February 24.

The red carpet premiere for The Combination will be held on February 17 in Parramatta.

Basha said everyone involved in the film was very disappointed, but hoped Haider would be released before the film's February 26 release in cinemas around the country.

"I spent the whole day there thinking they were going to get him out. Our lawyer is disappointed too because he didn't think Ali did much,'' Basha said.

"I wanted him to be there at the red carpet to experience it, I'm very disappointed for him especially too. But it's pretty much out of our hands now.''

In The Combination, a film about gangs and racism, Haider plays a violent young Lebanese man.

His character Zeus is involved in armed hold-ups, drugs and shootings.

In one scene, when told he could end up in jail, he responds in the film: "That doesn't scare me bros.''

"Understanding Muhammad"

To understand Muslims, one must understand their prophet. Muslims worship and emulate Muhammad. Islam is Muhammadanism. Only by understanding him can we know what makes them tick.

It’s said that we must know our enemy in order to defeat him. Muslims are not our enemy, nor are the terrorists among them. The enemy is the religion that they have embraced. It’s only under the influence of Islam that they are transformed into beasts.

I have predicted that Islam will fall within our lifetime. This won’t happen by itself. But it will happen once the truth is spread. This religion will be eradicated when everyone comes to know Muhammad and his sick mind.

I do not claim to have a superior knowledge of Islam. There are many Muslim scholars who know the Quran and the hadith by heart, who know everything about the Sharia, its various schools of jurisprudence and its history a lot better than me. But I claim to understand Muhammad better than most people and certainly better than all the Muslims. I say this with conviction that once the world comes to see the truth about Muhammad and understands him, Islam will become history and world peace will become a possibility.

Obama Criticizes Some Gitmo Release Decisions

Naive Obama who cannot even figure out that talking to the Mullah's of Iran or the Taliban will change nothing, is now pointing fingers at other U.S. officials for releasing prisoners from Gitmo who have returned to being Islamic terrorists.

WASHINGTON – President Barack Obama says the U.S. hasn't done a good job sorting out who should be released from the Guantanamo Bay detention center.

Obama says in a broadcast interview that some of the people released from the facility in Cuba have rejoined terrorist groups. He also says U.S. officials have not always been effective in determining which prisoners will be a danger once they are let go.

But he says the Bush administration's policy of holding detainees for years on end with no trials is "unsustainable,' and has only fueled anti-American sentiments.

In a taped interview with CBS' "60 Minutes," he also disputes former Vice President Dick Cheney's claim that plans to close Guantanamo will make America less safe.

CBS released excerpts Saturday from the interview. The show will air Sunday evening.

JERUSALEM – Israeli authorities broke up a series of Palestinian cultural events in Jerusalem on Saturday, disrupting a children's march and bursting balloons at a schoolyard celebration in a crackdown that underscored the emotional battle over control of the disputed holy city.

Elsewhere in Jerusalem, hundreds of Israelis gathered outside the residence of Prime Minister Ehud Olmert to mark the 1,000th day in captivity of an Israeli soldier held by Hamas militants in the Gaza Strip. The demonstration took place at a protest tent set up by the soldier's family, and many in the crowd quietly waved yellow glow sticks in a show of solidarity.

Palestinian activists called for Saturday's celebrations to mark the Arab League's designation of Jerusalem as the capital of Arab culture for 2009. The 23-nation group chooses a different city for the honor each year.

But Israel said the events violated a ban on Palestinian political activity in Jerusalem. Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas criticized the crackdown.

Announcing the ban on Saturday's events, Israel's internal security minister, Avi Dichter, accused Abbas' Palestinian Authority of being behind the activities. Israel does not allow the Palestinian government to have a presence in Jerusalem, saying it undercuts Israel's claim to the city.

At one event, teenage girls at an east Jerusalem Catholic school released a few dozen balloons in the red, white, green and black colors of the Palestinian flag over the walled Old City. Israeli military police and soldiers quickly moved into the schoolyard and popped the remaining balloons, students said.

Zein, an 18-year-old student, said the police popped them with their hands and told them they weren't allowed to release them into the air. She asked not to use her last name, fearing further problems with the police.

An Israeli intelligence official at the school who refused to give his name said the balloons were burst "because they are Palestinian."

Police spokesman Shmuel Ben Ruby said 12 people were detained. Police also broke up attempts by Palestinian school children to march into the Old City.

The dispute over Jerusalem lies at the heart of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict and has been the most sensitive issue in peace talks.

Israel says the entire city of Jerusalem is its undivided capital. Palestinians want east Jerusalem — captured by Israel in the 1967 Mideast war and site of key Jewish, Muslim and Christian holy sites — as the capital of a future state.

Israel annexed the eastern part of the city after the 1967 war, and today, some 180,000 Jewish Israelis live in east Jerusalem neighborhoods. The annexation is not internationally recognized.

Speaking in the West Bank town of Bethlehem, Abbas said Israel's policies in Jerusalem were undermining the chances for peace.

"The policy of discrimination, suppression, stealing the land, destruction of neighborhoods, and homes, the policy of falsifying the past, destroying the present and stealing the future should all stop if peace is to have a real opportunity in this land," he said.

He urged the incoming Israeli prime minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, to resume stalled peace negotiations on all issues of dispute, including Jerusalem. The conservative Netanyahu rejects any division of the holy city.

Olmert had hoped to arrange a prisoner swap with Hamas that would bring home the captured soldier, Sgt. Gilad Schalit, before he leaves office. Netanyahu is putting together a coalition government following elections last month and has two more weeks to complete the task.

But earlier this week, Olmert said Hamas' demands were excessive, strongly signaling he would turn over the matter to Netanyahu. Hamas is seeking the release of some 450 imprisoned militants, including dozens convicted of killing Israelis, in exchange for Schalit.

Schalit's father, Noam, urged Olmert to continue his efforts. "We want Gilad Schalit back home immediately — immediately, not in another 1,000 days, not even in another 100 days," he told the crowd Saturday night.

Schalit's family set up the protest tent two weeks ago to push for a last-minute deal. In a country where military service is mandatory, the case has gripped the nation's attention, and thousands of people have stopped by the tent to support the family.

The family planned to return home to northern Israel later Saturday, but his father said their struggle would go on. "This hasn't ended, dear Gilad," he said.

Afghanistan:Saudi & Taliban sit Down?

The recent "peace" talks with the Taliban in Pakistan resulted in the Taliban thugs getting their wish of sharia law being enforced in Swat Valley. Now is appears that Afghanistan will follow the lead of Pakistan as top Muslim clerics in Afghanistan are calling for "peace" talks between the Taliban and the Afghan government to me mediated by the hate preaching Saudis. If theses talks take place look for the Taliban in Afghanistan to call for governing their own land.

KABUL – Afghanistan's top Muslim clerics urged President Hamid Karzai on Friday to push ahead with a proposal for talks with the Taliban that would be mediated by Saudi Arabia's King Abdullah.

Calls for negotiations between Afghanistan's government and the Taliban have been mounting as the militant group has stepped up attacks in recent years despite efforts to defeat it by Afghan and international forces.

In the latest violence, international forces killed 34 militants in two days of clashes in the country's volatile south and east, the U.S. military said Friday.

President Barack Obama has urged the Afghan government to encourage moderate elements of the Taliban to reconcile with the government. Karzai has repeatedly said he is open to talks with top Taliban leaders but has made few apparent moves to start such a process. However, Karzai has previously asked King Abdullah to facilitate contacts with the Taliban.

The leaders of Afghanistan's powerful Muslim clerics' council pressed Karzai in a meeting Friday to push the talks forward, said Faiz Mohammad, a council member from Kunduz province. They proposed a meeting that would include government and Taliban representatives and also former jihad leaders, other prominent Afghans and representatives of neighboring countries, Mohammad said.

Karzai's office issued a statement summarizing the meeting, without saying if it would take any action.

Iran Calls out Obama on "Change"!!

As soon as President Obama got into office he announced that he was going to reach out to the Muslim world. First he sent a message to the Taliban in an effort to find "moderate" members. In response the Taliban told that they have a goal and that there is nothing to talk about. That is strike one Obama. Obama's next move was to try and catch the Iranian leaders in a festive mood, as he sent them a video message on the Iranian holiday Nowruz, the Persian New Year. Recently the President of Iran, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad had demanded an apology from Obama for 60 years of US "crimes" against Iran. Today the man with the real power in Iran Ayatollah Ali Khamenei who stands even above the President of Iran sent Obama this return message today.

"They chant the slogan of change but no change is seen in practice. We haven't seen any change," Khamenei said in a speech before a crowd of tens of thousands in the northeastern holy city of Mashhad.

"He (Obama) insulted the Islamic Republic of Iran from the first day. If you are right that change has come, where is that change? What is the sign of that change? Make it clear for us what has changed."

That is strike two Obama. Who will be strike three, Hamas or Hezbollah? I guess that the voters were wrong about Obama. His Muslim background is not changing a thing in the world.
