Clinton "hard to believe" Pakistan Cannot Find al-Qaeda

For the second time this week, Hillary Clinton has hit the nail on the head. On Tuesday she spoke out against the Obama backed U.N. resolution on “defamation of religions". Today she has applied some common sense and is questioning Pakistan and the two-faced game that they are playing with us. I believe that Hillary is going to sit back and watch Obama crash and burn, then quickly turn on him.

Clinton puzzled at Pakistan failure to find al Qaeda
By Andrew Quinn

LAHORE, Pakistan (Reuters) – U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton's said on Thursday it was "hard to believe" that no one in Pakistan's government knew where al Qaeda leaders were hiding, striking a new tone on a trip where Washington's credibility has come under attack.

Scores of al Qaeda leaders and their operatives, including Osama bin Laden, are believed to be in hiding in the rugged border territory that divides Pakistan and Afghanistan, but both countries routinely accuse the other of being the main sanctuary.

"I find it hard to believe that nobody in your government knows where they are and couldn't get them if they really wanted to," she told a group of newspaper editors during a meeting in Lahore.

"Maybe they are not 'get-at-able'. I don't know," she said.

Clinton's pointed remark was the first public gripe on a trip aimed at turning around a U.S.-Pakistan relationship under serious strain, but bound in the struggle against religious extremism.

"I am more than willing to hear every complaint about the United States," Clinton said, ""but this is a two way street.

"If we are going to have a mature partnership where we work together" then "there are issues that not just the United States but others have with your government and with your military security establishment."

Clinton, who has sought to use her own personal outreach to overcome rising anti-American sentiment in Pakistan, earlier repeated her conviction that the two countries' common interests far outweighed their differences.

Clinton Takes a Stand Against Islamic Censorhip

Hillary Clinton has actually done the right thing and is taking a stand against the Organization of Islamic Conference (OIC), and the United Nations which in the past had banned any criticism of Islam in regards to human rights. Miracles do happen!

Clinton Denounces Proposed 'Defamation of Religions' Policies
By Michelle A. Vu|Christian Post Reporter

U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton voiced strong opposition Monday to proposed U.N. resolutions on “defamation of religions,” saying that such policies would restrict free speech.

“The United States will always seek to counter negative stereotypes of individuals based on their religion and will stand against discrimination and persecution,” Clinton stated. “But an individual’s ability to practice his or her religion has no bearing on others’ freedom of speech.”

The protection of speech about religion and religious discourse is important in a world with many different faith beliefs, asserted the high-ranking U.S. diplomat.

Earlier this year, the U.N. Human Rights Council adopted an anti-defamation draft resolution that human rights groups warn would protect a religion rather than adherents of religions.

Leonard A. Leo, chair of the U.S. Commission on International Religious Freedom, last week testified to Members of Congress that the only religion and religious adherents that are specifically mentioned in the “defamation” resolutions – this year’s and past years – are Islam and Muslims.

“Aside from Islam, the resolutions do not specify which religions are deserving of protection, or explain how or by whom this would be determined,” Leo stated.

Several prominent groups working with persecuted Christians have also spoken out against the resolutions, which are sponsored annually by the Organization of the Islamic Conference, because they say the policies would be manipulated to further harass Christians and other religious minorities in Muslim-majority countries.

“Many Christians living in these countries [that make up the Organization of Islamic Conference] are already severely impacted by restrictive laws – especially those living under strict Shariah law,” said Open Doors USA President/CEO Carl Moeller. “From the right to worship freely to the ability to share the Gospel, the Defamation of Religions Resolution threatens to justify local laws that already marginalize Christians."

Since 1999, the Organization of the Islamic Conference has annually sponsored a "defamation of religions" resolution in the U.N. Human Rights Council, and, since 2005, in the General Assembly.

The resolution adopted this past March by the U.N. Human Rights Council is currently non-binding, but OIC has publicly stated that its goal is for the U.N. to adopt a binding international covenant against the “defamation of religions.” Next month, a similar resolution will be considered for adoption by the General Assembly.

Russian Muslims to ask Hillary to "Adopt" Islam

Considering all the Islamic kissing that the White House, Department of Justice and the State Department have been doing, she might as well get it over with and convert. Muslim or not, the results will be the same.

Muslims of Kazan will offer Hillary Clinton to adopt Islam

Moscow, October 13, Interfax - Muslims of Tatarstan intend to offer USA State Secretary Hillary Clinton to adopt Islam during her visit to Kazan.

"As an imam I have to do several things when I meet her (Clinton - IF). First, I will meet her with peace and mercy from the Almighty. Then I will tell her about monotheism and recommend to adopt Islam,"
the Tvoy Den paper has cited imam-khatyb of the Kazan Zakaban Mosque Said-Jafar Lotfullin as saying on Tuesday.

He also believes he should ask USA State Secretary "not to infringe on Muslims rights in America, to develop Islamic cultural centers, to build more mosques."

In frames of her visit to Russia, Clinton plans to hold talks with Tatarstan President Mintimer Shaimiyev in Kazan Kremlin and to visit Qul Sharif Mosque and the Annunciation Cathedral. She is expected to communicate with Muslim and Orthodox spiritual leaders and parishioners.

Hillary Clinton Hosts Iftar, Reaches Out to Muslim Communities

Like the White House, the Clinton lead State Department has also had a dinner in honor of Ramadan. Apparently much of our government's time is being used up by catering to Islam. Just like in the UK, and look at how well that turned out.

Hillary Clinton Hosts Iftar, Reaches Out to Muslim Communities
September 16, 2009

From Kristina Wong --

Hillary Clinton reached out to Muslim communities at home and abroad by hosting an "iftar" at the State Department Monday evening. "Iftar" refers the one meal participating Muslims have each day after fasting from sun-up to sun-down for one month, in observation of Ramadan -- the holiest period of each year and the ninth month in the Islamic calendar.

"The nearly seven million Muslims in our country have enriched our culture, have made us stronger, because of contributions that many of you and others across America have given to us," Clinton said before the meal, to guests comprised of diplomats and prominent members of Muslim American communities in the U.S.

Also speaking before the meal was the State Department's new Special Representative to Muslim Communities, Farah Pandith, sworn-in Monday morning by Secretary Clinton.

"This holy month of Ramadan provides us with these wonderful opportunities to reflect on the principles of a faith that is practiced by more than a billion women and men worldwide. As we fast, we are asked to think of the other, to be cognizant of the importance of respect for all, and to renew our efforts to do good deeds," said Pandith.

"As a Muslim who immigrated to the United States at a young age, I have walked the typical American road. I have balanced my faith and my heritage and my love of my country without pause," Pandith said.

"It is as American to have pad thai, as it is a pizza," she joked.

Clinton acknowledged that the relationship between Muslim communities and other Americans has not always been harmonious. After the attacks of September 11, 2001-- committed by violent extremist Muslims from parts of the Middle East, many Muslim Americans faced outright hostility and prejudice in the U.S.

"Now we recognize that the relationship between the United States and Muslim communities has at times suffered from misunderstanding and misperception," Clinton said. "But we are committed to learning and listening, to creating bridges of understanding, and respect, and building stronger bonds of cooperation."

Clinton:We Support the Sharia Govt of Somalia~Increases aid

I understand why Hillary Clinton thinks that siding with the current Sharia government of Somalia, is the right move. As they are fighting against the US listed terrorist organization al-Shabaab. But when you are a leader of a country which is supposed to represent freedom for the world, siding with Sharia law does not cut it. As sharia is based on a discrimination against women and non-Muslims. Freedom loving nations should be fighting Sharia law, not embracing it.

Somalia: Clinton Pledges Support to Transitional Federal Government

Charles W. Corey 6 August 2009

Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton pledged continued U.S. support for the Somali Transitional Federal Government (TFG) and called on Eritrea to halt interference in Somalia.

Clinton appeared at a joint press conference at the U.S. Embassy August 6 following talks with Somali President Sheikh Sharif Sheikh Ahmed. She said the talks with the TFG leader were "a thorough and productive discussion about the challenges facing his country and the efforts of the international community to support the Transitional Federal Government as it stands up for the people of Somalia and against the threat of violent extremism."

Clinton pledged continued support for the TFG and said the United States has joined the Intergovernmental Authority on Development (IGAD), the Arab League, the Organization of the Islamic Conference, and the African Union (AU) in endorsing the Somali-led Djibouti peace process, which aims to end conflict and restore peace.

"We believe that his [Sharif's] government is the best hope we have had in quite some time for a return to stability and the possibility of progress in Somalia," Clinton added.

Earlier in the day, Clinton, with the help of survivors, laid a wreath at Memorial Park in Nairobi, commemorating victims of the August 7, 1998, U.S. Embassy bombing, which killed 213 people and injured more than 4,000 others.

STRONGER TFG

A stronger TFG would have "positive consequences, not just for Somalia but for the region and the wider global community. It would contribute to greater regional stability and start to alleviate the greater refugee crisis afflicting Somalia's neighbors, especially Kenya," which is currently hosting some 300,000 refugees, Clinton said.

She commended Sharif's government for "taking up the fight on behalf of the Somali people against al-Shabaab -- a terrorist group with links to al-Qaida and other foreign militant networks."

Al-Shabaab "and its allies," she said, "lack regard for human rights, women's rights, for education, health care and the progress of the Somali people. They see Somalia as a future haven for global terrorism."

Millions of Somalis, or roughly 40 percent of the country's population, are in need of humanitarian assistance as they confront persistent conflict, prolonged drought and periodic disease outbreaks, she added.

Clinton acknowledged that the TFG institutions are in need of reform and support so they can make progress in delivering services to the Somali people.

Secretary Clinton lays a wreath at Memorial Park in Nairobi August 6 with survivors of the 1998 terrorist bombing of the U.S. Embassy.

"The United States and the international community must serve as an active partner in helping the TFG in helping the people of Somalia confront and ultimately move beyond the conflict and poverty that has gripped their country," she said.

She praised the AU mission in Somalia for playing an "instrumental role" in providing security and the space in which the TFG can operate.

The United States has provided more than $150 million over the past two years to the African Union Mission in Somalia (AMISOM) troops, and more will be provided in the next few months, she said.

Clinton also pledged to continue providing equipment and training for the TFG and supplying humanitarian assistance to the Somali people and is asking other states in the region to support the Djibouti process.

"It is long past time for Eritrea to cease and desist its support for al-Shabaab and to start being a productive rather than a destabilizing neighbor," she said.

At the press conference, Sharif said through an interpreter that he was grateful for the meeting and that it was a good opportunity for his government and the people of Somalia.

He said he presented his views in "very frank" terms and hoped such meetings would help his country "move out of this current crisis."

Sharif told reporters that what is going on in Somalia is not a civil war but a situation fueled by "people with strategic interests to make Somalia a base from which to destabilize the world."

Islam is a peaceful religion, he explained, and what terrorists want to do by killing innocent people is not operating in accordance with Islam.

Captain Freed, 3 Pirates Dead!

While Hillary Clinton thought that the pirate situation was funny, our great US Navy did not. They took it seriously and rescued the Captain while killing three of the four Islamic pirates. This is a wonderful Easter gift for the brave Captain Phillips and his family. God has blessed them.

American captain rescued, pirates killed, U.S. official says

(CNN) -- The captain of the Maersk Alabama was freed Sunday after being held captive since Wednesday by pirates off the coast of Somalia, a senior U.S. official with knowledge of the situation told CNN.

The official said Capt. Richard Phillips is uninjured and in good condition, and that three of the four pirates were killed. The fourth pirate is in custody. Phillips was taken aboard the USS Bainbridge, a nearby naval warship.

Earlier Sunday afternoon Maersk Line Limited, owner of the Maersk Alabama, said the U.S. Navy informed the company that it had sighted Phillips in a lifeboat where pirates are holding him.

Phillips was spotted another time earlier in the day, the Navy said.

A man who answered the door at Phillips' home in Underhill, Vermont, told CNN's Stephanie Elam that the family has known the news for hours. He said details would have to come from Virginia, apparently referring to the home base of Maersk Line Limited, based in Norfolk, which owns the ship.

On Saturday, the FBI launched a criminal investigation into the hijacking of the U.S.-flagged cargo ship by Somali pirates, two law enforcement officials told CNN. The probe will be led by the FBI's New York field office, which is responsible for looking into cases involving U.S. citizens in the African region, the officials said.

The Maersk Alabama reached port in Mombasa, Kenya, on Saturday. Crew members aboard the freed cargo ship described how some of their colleagues attempted to "jump" their pirate captors.

A scuffle ensued and one of the sailors stabbed a pirate in the hand in the battle to retake the container ship, one of the sailors told CNN.

Snippets of information are starting to emerge about how the Alabama's crew managed to retake the ship after it was hijacked by pirates Wednesday about 350 miles off the coast of Somalia in the Indian Ocean.

Crew members smiled broadly as they stood on the ship's deck under the watchful eyes of security teams. Although the crew was kept away from the media, CNN's Stan Grant got close enough to ask crew members what happened after the pirates climbed aboard the ship.

One crew member said he recalled being awakened around 7 a.m. as the hijacking began.

Some of the crew managed to hide in a secure part of the Alabama as the pirates stormed the ship, the sailor said.

As the sailors described their clash with the pirates, a crew member pointed to one shipmate and said, "This guy is a hero. He and the chief engineer, they took down the pirate. ... He led him down there to the engine room and then they jumped him."

The shipmate added that he stabbed the pirate's hand and tied him up.

"Capt. Phillips is a hero," another crew member shouted from the deck of the freed ship.

Since Phillips was captured Wednesday, the destroyer USS Bainbridge has been in the area of the lifeboat, trying to free him.

An attempt by Phillips to escape from the 28-foot covered lifeboat was thwarted by a pirate, who dove into the Indian Ocean after him. Phillips' captors appear to have tied him up afterward, Pentagon officials said.

The Alabama resumed its course on Thursday for Mombasa, its original destination, carrying food aid and an armed 18-person security detail.

Maersk president and CEO John Reinhart told reporters Saturday that the crew will stay on board in Mombasa while the FBI conducts an investigation.

Pirates Take Another US Boat~Send Reinforcements to Lifeboat

While we have one US Captain who is being held hostage for four days, Islamic pirates have hijacked a US tugboat. Maybe it had something to do with our Secretary of State laughing at the hostage situation. Besides this hijacking, the pirates have sent out reinforcements to try and help the lifeboat with the US hostage. On the world stage, Obama and co. are looked upon as a bunch of politically correct weaklings and what we are seeing is just the beginning.

Seafarers official:Pirates hijack US tugboat

By MICHELLE FAUL and TOM MALITI
NAIROBI, Kenya – The head of a Kenyan seafarers' program said Saturday that Somali pirates had hijacked an American-owned tugboat with 16 crew in the Gulf of Aden.

Nairobi-based Italian Ambassador Pierandrea Magistrati said he only could confirm that "there is a boat that has been hijacked, I believe by Somali pirates."

The hijacking took place as the American captain of the U.S.-flagged Maersk Alabama was still being held hostage on a lifeboat being watched by two U.S. warships.

The head of the East African Seafarers' Assistance Program, Andrew Mwangura, said maritime industry sources had informed his organization that the Italian-flagged U.S. tugboat was towing two barges when it was attacked. He said it was unclear if the attack took place off the coast of Somalia or further north near Yemen. He said did not know what was on the barges.

Mwangura said the attack was launched around 11 a.m. (0800 GMT) Saturday.

More U.S. warships were trying to stop Somali pirates from sending reinforcements to the lifeboat where the American captain was being held for a fourth day hundreds of miles from land, a diplomat said Saturday.

The Nairobi-based diplomat, who receives regular briefings on the situation, said the four pirates holding Capt. Richard Phillips in a lifeboat under the close watch of U.S. warships some 380 miles off shore had tried to summon other pirates from the Somali mainland.

The diplomat, who spoke on condition on anonymity because he was not authorized to talk to reporters, said that pirates had been trying to reach the lifeboat. A Somali who described himself as having close ties to pirate networks also said the pirates were trying to reach the lifeboat.

The Somali told The Associated Press that pirates had set out in four commandeered ships with hostages from a variety of nations including the Philippines, Russia and Germany. The diplomat told the AP that large pirate "motherships" and skiffs were heading in the direction of the lifeboat.

A second Somali man who said he had spoken by satellite phone to a pirate piloting a seized German freighter told the AP by phone Saturday that the pirate captain had reported being blocked by U.S. forces and was returning Saturday to the pirate stronghold of Harardhere.

Speaking on condition of anonymity for fear of reprisals, he said the pirate told him the ship was in sight of a U.S. Navy destroyer Saturday morning local time, received a U.S. warning not to come any closer and, fearing attack, left the scene without ever seeing the lifeboat.

A Pentagon official who spoke on condition of anonymity because of the sensitivity of the negotiations said in Washington Saturday morning that there had been no developments overnight. He declined to comment on the report that the U.S. Navy had turned back the pirates.

The diplomat said from Nairobi that at least two American ships and U.S. Navy surveillance aircraft had been attempting to deter pirate ships and skiffs from contact with the lifeboat but he did not know if the pirates and Navy ships had come into contact.

The Somali man said the pirate also told him that two other commandeered ships from Taiwan and Greece that were trying to reach the lifeboat feared a showdown with the U.S. Navy and returned to Eyl, a port that serves as a pirate hub, on Friday night. It was not immediately possible to contact people in Eyl Saturday.

The Somali man said the fourth ship that had tried to reach the lifeboat was a Norwegian tanker that was released Friday after a $2 million ransom was paid. The owner of the Norwegian tanker Bow Asir confirmed Friday that it had been released two weeks after it was seized by armed pirates off the Somali coast, and all 27 of its crew members were unhurt.
