Progressive Michigan Citizen Paper: FBI Murdered Imam

The Michigan Citizen which cites itself as being "America's most progressive community newspaper", needs a reality check. The raid on this Mosque and killing of an admitted enemy of America, had nothing to do with them being black or poor. Did it ever to occur to Muslims and their leftist supporters that continually playing the victim card, is like crying wolf? People are not buying it anymore.

FBI murders Detroit Imam, targets Muslims nationally

DETROIT — Over 1,000 Muslims from all over the country attended the funeral of Imam Luqman Ameen Abdullah at the Muslim Center of Detroit on W. Davison Oct. 31. Imam Abdullah, 53, the leader of the Masjid El-Haqq mosque, was shot to death Oct. 28 in an FBI “terrorism task force” raid at a Dearborn warehouse.

“Imam Luqman had faith and constantly strived to righteous deeds,” said Imam Talib Abdur-Rashid, of Harlem’s Mosque of Islamic Brotherhood, in published remarks during the funeral, “Imam Luqman had the consciousness, taqwa … I never heard him discuss any subject whatsoever, even sports, without talking about Allah.”

The mosque, whose membership is primarily Black, is located in a poor Detroit neighborhood on Clairmount near Linwood. The FBI also raided two homes on Tireman and Genesee in Detroit.

Twelve members of the mosque, including the Imam’s son Mujahid Carswell, have been arrested. A federal complaint against eleven of them, unsealed the day of the raid, cites charges of dealing in stolen goods, weapons possession and sales, and mail and insurance fraud. There are no “terrorism”-related charges. It says four of the 11 previously served prison time.

Special Agent in Charge of the Detroit Division of the FBI Andrew Arena claimed that Imam Abdullah had opened fire inside the warehouse, which was returned by the FBI and other members of the task force, including the Dearborn police.

Imam Abdullah shot 18 times

Imam Adullah’s family members, who washed his body for burial in the Muslim custom, said he was shot at least eighteen times. The FBI reportedly airlifted a police dog killed during the melee but accorded no medical attention to the Imam.

“Imam Luqman Ameen Abdullah was known in Detroit for his many, many years of work feeding the hungry and housing the homeless. Instead of assassinating such leaders who help the people, the FBI should be raiding the bankers who are behind the growing hunger and homelessness,” said Mike Shane of the Michigan Emergency Committee Against War and Injustice (MECAWI).

MECAWI planned a demonstration against the raid in front of the McNamara Federal Building Nov. 5. In a flier, the group noted that the FBI-charged Black nationalist leader Marcus Garvey with mail fraud in the 1920s, worked with the KKK in murders and attacks on civil rights workers in the 50s and 60s, and likely orchestrated the assassinations of Dr. Martin Luther King and Malcolm X. The FBI also raided, arrested and murdered Black Panther Party and American Indian Movement members in the 1960s.

In 2006, paid FBI provocateur and hate webcaster Hal Turner of New Jersey called on his audience to lynch former U.S. Congresswoman and Green Party Presidential candidate Cynthia McKinney while she was still in office. Her objections, relayed to the Justice Department, met with no response.

The federal complaint against the Detroit Muslims paints Imam Abdullah as a radical advocate of the violent overthrow of the U.S. government.

It describes 10 undercover operations (UCO’s) authorized by the U.S. Justice Department against the mosque. They involved the transport and sale of goods “which the defendants believed were from out-of-state.”

All of the operations were instigated by the informants, as was the gathering at the Dearborn warehouse. The Detroit News reported that the warehouse itself was actually FBI-controlled.

Muslims Across the Country cry Victim

The Islamic victim card which was first played in Fort Meyers, and Chicago, is now being used across the country. According to these Muslims, Islam was not a factor in the Fort Hood attack. My advice to the Islamic community is to stop insulting our intelligence with your obvious lies. Islam had everything to do with this cowardly attack.

Another attack leaves US Muslims fearing backlash
By ERIC GORSKI, Religion Writer

As word spread that a gunman had opened fire at Fort Hood leaving a trail of carnage, a chilling realization swept across the U.S. Muslim community: He has an Islamic name.

From a professor who just testified in Congress, to a White House adviser appearing before a Jewish group and a former Marine driving home from work, Muslims across the country were shocked, angry and afraid that the attack would erode efforts to erase anti-Islamic stereotypes.

Many Islamic leaders said the Fort Hood tragedy that left 13 dead and 30 wounded including the alleged gunman, Maj. Nidal Malik Hasan, could likely post the sternest test for U.S. Muslims since the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks.

"A lot of us work very hard for this country, to make America a better place," said Muqtedar Khan, a progressive Muslim scholar who has just given Congressional testimony on U.S. foreign policy in Afghanistan before Thursday's attack. "And this one nut like Maj. Hasan comes along and in one crazy episode of a few seconds he undermines these years and years of hard work we are doing to make American Muslims part of the mainstream in the community."

Hasan, an Army psychiatrist, is a Muslim who attended his former mosque daily and had an "Allah is Love" bumper sticker on his car. Soldiers reported Friday that the shooter shouted "Allahu Akbar!" — Arabic for "God is great!" — during the rampage.

Other troubling details also emerged, including reports that authorities suspect Hasan posted online messages about suicide bombers and violence, was struggling with a pending deployment to Afghanistan and was being harassed in the Army for being a Muslim.

While a motive remains unclear, the confirmation of Hasan's faith alone prompted major Muslim groups and mosques to issue statements condemning the killings as contrary to Islam and praising the service of the many Muslim Americans in the U.S. military.

Of immediate concern was security at mosques Friday, Islam's main day of communal prayer.

In Washington, Chicago and elsewhere, mosques asked police for extra patrols. In Garden Grove, Calif., officers stood watch outside a mosque as a precaution.

Muslim leaders warned people to be vigilant and avoid exposing themselves unnecessarily — including walking alone, said Hussam Ayloush, director of the Council on American-Islamic Relations in Southern California.

"This is one of those moments where we have to sit and pray that most Americans will come out stronger, more united, and more tolerant," said Ayloush, adding that Muslim organizations have received dozens of death threats and hate e-mail.

At the Muslim Community Center in Silver Spring, Md., which Hasan attended before moving to Fort Hood, Imam Mohamed Abdullahi urged worshippers Friday to tell their non-Muslim neighbors that Islam was not responsible for the deaths. He also advised them to keep their tempers in check.

"Whenever we hear the name turns out to be Arabic or Muslim we feel a double shock" about such incidents. "And then we worry about backlash," said Imam Mostafa Al-Qazwini of the Islamic Educational Center of Orange County in Costa Mesa, Calif.

U.S. Rep. Andre Carson, an Indiana Democrat who is one of two Muslims serving in Congress, cautioned against focusing on the alleged shooter's religion and instead said the discussion should be about mental health issues.

"This is no way a reflection of Islam any more than Timothy McVeigh's actions are a reflection of Christianity," said Carson, who supervised an anti-terrorism unit in Indiana's Department of Homeland Security and comes from a family of Marines.

Eboo Patel, the executive director of Chicago-based Interfaith Youth Core, had just spoken at a Union of Reform Judaism conference in Toronto on Thursday night when a rabbi told him: "The guy had a Muslim name."

"I had just spoken from the tradition of Islam ... on the importance of interfaith cooperation and building Muslim-Jewish bridges," said Patel, who sits on a White House faith-based advisory board. "I wish that was viewed as reflective of Islam instead of a deranged lunatic who was acting only in the tradition of deranged lunacy, not in the tradition of any faith."

But other Muslims were weary of what has become a routine: a Muslim does something unspeakable, and Islamic organizations issue statements condemning it.

"Truth be told, we're getting a little exhausted because we've done this to death," said Robert Salaam of Maryland, a former Marine who converted to Islam shortly after the 9-11 attacks and now blogs and hosts a radio show on Muslim affairs. "We're apologizing for people we don't know."

Still, driving home from work listening to the news Thursday, Salaam thought: "God, I hope it's not a Muslim."

Chicago Area Mosques Play Victim Card After Islamic Terror Attack on Fort Hood

Just this morning we read about Muslims at Fort Meyers playing the usual Islamic victim card. Of course other Muslims have followed their lead. This time Muslims of Chicago are looking to get the focus of non-Muslims, off of the Islamic attack and on to the security of them. Never let them take our focus off of the threat of Islam!

One of the Mosques in the Chicago is the Bridgeview Mosque. Here is a little back round information on them.

A plea from Bridgeview to a Saudi charity asked for money "before it becomes too late and we may lose our children because they are living in an unIslamic society." One mosque fundraising brochure warned that Chicago's Muslims were at risk of "melting in the American society, culture and lifestyle."

Sermons are in Arabic and claim authentic interpretations of the Koran along with following strict Islamic rule. Jamal Said mixes eloquent sermons with ardent pleas to help oppressed Muslims. As prayer leader, he preached that America was a land of disbelievers, where families were not valued. Some of the sheik's edicts include: don't celebrate Valentine's Day and Thanksgiving because those were not Islamic holidays. Don't listen to contemporary music. Women should not travel long distances without chaperons. Those that criticize mosque leaders to outsiders are "hypocrites".

Obviously a Mosque of the enemy, which means that they do not deserve to have one-cent of our money spent on them for special treatment.

Mosques boost security after killings
November 6, 2009

Mosques across the Chicago area are increasing security and asking Muslims to be vigilant for fear of retaliation following the Fort Hood shootings.

The suspect is a Muslim who’s accused of opening fire on fellow soldiers in a rampage that left 13 people dead and dozens injured.

The Islamic Society of Northwest Suburbs of Chicago has sent e-mails asking Muslims to be more careful, especially on Friday, the day Muslims hold communal prayers.

The Mosque Foundation president in Bridgeview says he’s called police to put them on high alert. Zaher Sahloul says he fears something could be done to Muslims because of “misguided anger.”

The Council of Islamic Organizations of Greater Chicago has instructed imams to address Thursday’s shooting and talk generally about violence in America.

Islamic Center for PEACE in Fort Myers Requests Additional Police Patrols

I knew it wouldn't be long after yesterday's horrific Islamic attack at Fort Hood, before Muslims cried victim. Crying victim, even though they admit that no threats have been made against them. How about us non-Muslims play the victim card and protect ourselves by demanding an end to Muslim immigration? That would be a good start.

Islamic Center for PEACE in Fort Myers requests additional police patrols

11:09 A.M. — Following the shootings at the Fort Hood Army base in Texas on Thursday, those at the Islamic Center for PEACE in Fort Myers have requested additional police patrols, though there have so far been no threats to the center.

Alibaba Lumumba, president of the center, said anytime there is a crime allegedly committed by a Muslim, the whole Muslim community suffers.

“But when there is a Christian who commits a crime, we don’t get into his religion or whether he wears a cross or not,” Lumumba said. “It’s a lack of knowledge about what Islam is and what it is not. Such acts of violence, especially if there were women, children or elderly who were hurt, are not condoned by Islam.”

Lumumba said he learned of the shootings after receiving a call from a religious leader at a different center, who also expressed concern of the safety of Muslims in their community.

“We do send our condolences to all the families that lost someone from that shooting, and to the people that were injured, I pray for them that their injuries will heal,” Lumumba said.

Dallas:Other Side of Muslim Victim Card Story

Yesterday I posted an article about Dallas area Muslims playing the usual Islamic victim card. Today's article exposes the truth about Islam in that area. The truth of which Muslims are silent over.

Other side of Muslim bigotry story
Oct 20, 2009
Rod Dreher/Columnist

Yesterday TDMN ran a front pager about concerns local Muslim leaders have that the wider public will judge all Muslims by the actions of Smadi, the alleged terrorist bomber. I don't blame them for being concerned, even though it would be plainly unjust to hold an entire community responsible for the alleged actions of a lone wolf living in Italy and working at a gas station. But that's not the whole story. Here's some supplemental information.

Have we forgotten about the Holy Land Foundation terrorist fundraising convictions? Those defendants weren't outliers like Smadi, but pillars of the local Islamic community. Have we forgotten about the anti-Christian, anti-Semitic hate literature found at the Dallas Central Mosque, which prompted this newspaper to editorialize thus in 2005 (the link to the entire editorial is dead, but here's an excerpt):

According to the report (available at freedomhouse.org/religion), investigators gathered literature that teaches contempt for Jews, Christians and tolerant Muslims, as well as hatred for America. Material found in a Houston mosque even commands the faithful to establish a revolutionary fifth column.

Some of these documents came from the Dallas Central Mosque in Richardson.

Unfortunately, this kind of thing is not altogether alien to this mosque. Last spring, it hosted a youth quiz competition, sponsored by two national organizations closely tied to the worldwide Islamist movement. Kids were tested on the work of premier jihad ideologist Sayyid Qutb.

The mosque's imam, Dr. Yusuf Kavakci, has publicly praised two of the world's foremost radical Islamists, Yusuf Qaradawi and Hasan al-Turabi, as exemplary leaders.
Dr. Kavakci also sits on the board of the Saudi-backed Islamic Society of North America, described in congressional testimony as a major conduit of Wahhabist teaching. Yet Dr. Kavakci tells The Dallas Morning News he rejects Wahhabist teaching. Something doesn't add up.

Dr. Kavakci is a national leader in the Islamic Society of North America (ISNA), which according to the FBI and other authoritative sources, is rooted in the radical global Muslim Brotherhood. This connection is what earned ISNA, CAIR and other Muslim groups a place on the U.S. government's list of unindicted co-conspirators in the HLF trial.

And have we forgotten about the notorious event held at an Irving mosque a few years ago -- the "Tribute to the Great Islamic Visionary," the Ayatollah Khomeini -- and which attracted the cream of North Texas Islamic leaders? The story of Islamic extremism in North Texas is a lot more complicated than you might think. One may well be a stone-cold bigot for having critical suspicions of the local Muslim community. Or one may simply be paying attention to the facts as they are, not as one would prefer them to be.

Dallas Area Muslims Play the Victim Card

Just like Muslims in Queens had recently hit the streets to play the victim card, so have Muslims in Dallas. Islam victimizes people across the world, but they don't say a word about that....

Dallas-area Muslims fear backlash from arrests tied to terror plot
October 19, 2009
By SELWYN CRAWFORD / The Dallas Morning News

North Texans were both angry and relieved last month when federal agents arrested a Jordanian teenager in a failed plot to blow up a Dallas skyscraper.

But for area Muslims, the arrest of 19-year-old Hosam "Sam" Smadi evoked yet another emotion – fear.

"Being a Muslim in America today is not easy," said Hadi Jawad, a longtime Dallas business owner and a volunteer at the Dallas Peace Center. "We feel under siege. There is open season on our faith. Muslims are painted with a broad brush."

Jawad and other Muslims praise the work of law enforcement in arresting Smadi, as well as two other terrorism suspects in New York and Illinois. But because of all three suspects' Islamic faith, they say the arrests cast aspersions on Islam that hearken back to the atmosphere that existed immediately after 9/11.

Though most area Muslims are quick to say the mood of the country has not returned to that bitter level, most add that their lives here would be practically unbearable if any Muslim terrorist were to carry out another attack on American soil

"We have to work toward a common yardstick of justice, but we are just one catastrophic incident away from the post-9/11 atmosphere and even worse," said Salam Al-Marayati, executive director of the Muslim Public Affairs Council in Washington, a Muslim civil rights organization. "We have to accept the double standards, as bad as they are. That's just the fact, unfortunately."

Muslims in North Texas say they don't know of any physical assaults on them of late, but that after any high-profile negative event involving Muslims – such as the arrest of Smadi – they face increased racial taunts and verbal harassment.

Al-Marayati says suspicions about Muslims persist, in large part, because Americans – most of whom are Christian – either can't or won't make a distinction between the mainstream and fringe elements of Islam, while they discern that difference for others. He says, for example, that when non-Muslims commit extreme acts, they are quickly dismissed as being crazy or weird or having some deep-seated emotional problem, and are not viewed as representative of an entire group of people.

But Muslim bad actors, he said, don't get the same treatment.

"When a Christian does something ... that's how it's reported, that they happen to be a Christian," Al-Marayati said. "But if it's a Muslim, it's as if it's the [Muslim] religion that's driving it."

Mohamed Elibiary, president of the Freedom and Justice Foundation, a Muslim interfaith organization in Plano, agrees.

"The average American thinks it must be the religion" that pushes Muslim extremists, Elibiary said. "There must be something about them. That sentiment has been there since 9/11, and it hasn't gone anywhere."

NY: Queens Muslims hit Street to Play the Race Card

Muslims have hit the streets of Queens in order to do what they do better than anyone, play the victim card. To be specific the race card. I am still waiting for one reporter to have the guts to ask Muslims what race is. When I start doing my own reporting next year, I will gladly ask them.

Muslim advocates charge NYPD is racial profiling in Queens raids tied to alleged Zazi terror plot
BY HENRICK KAROLISZYN AND SAMUEL GOLDSMITH
DAILY NEWS WRITERS

Updated Saturday, October 10th 2009

Recent terror raids in Queens have led to a spike in fear and racial profiling, Muslim advocates charge.

About 40 people rallied outside the Flushing Public Library Saturday to draw attention to what they called an uptick in targeted policing.

The rally was in response to raids last month linked to a suspected bomb plot. Najibullah Zazi, 24, who authorities say was trained at an Al Qaeda terror camp, pleaded not guilty to conspiring to detonate explosives.

"An entire community of people and religion should not be profiled or characterized as terrorists because of [one] certain investigation," said Monami Maulik, who runs the South Asian immigrant rights group Desis Rising Up and Moving.

Naiz Khan, who allowed Zazi to stay at his Flushing apartment, said FBI agents raided his flat and he hasn't been able to find work since.

"I was so scared and I was so nervous," he said. "I have been so affected by this."

"People are scared," said Sultan Faiz, a leader at Abu Bakar Mosque in Queens.

Organizers say Muslims in New York haven't been this scared since the months after 9/11, when some were subject to discrimination across the country.

The NYPD issued a statement saying they don't engage in racial profiling.

By the way, if Muslims don't like it here they can move to an Islamic country. Us non-Muslims are sick of the terror plots and Sharia push, we will not miss you.

US:"Rounded Up"~New Book Crys Muslims are the Victims

Albany's Dr. Ahmad has authored a new book claiming that Muslims in America are the victims. Saying that if there was no 911, they would be treated differently.

Well, Dr. there was a 911, as well as a 7/7, a 3/11 and recently the Mumbai attacks. These are besides the 1000's of other attacks that Muslims have unleashed across the world since 911. This is besides Muslims persecuting non-Muslims across the world for over a 1000 years. Obviously none of these facts matter to the Islamic world, all that matters is when they are "offended". The one-way street continues.

New book claims Albany muslims caught in terror sting were framed
Oct 2, 2009 04:01 PM
By TARYN FITSIK

ALBANY -- In his new book "Rounded Up", local mosque leader Dr. Shamshad Ahmad says the FBI sting against Yassin Aref and Mohammed Hossain was designed to advance the post 9-11 war on terror, a war he says affects the entire Muslim community.

"Muslims are treated very differently, sometimes outrightly rejected, condemned and blamed for what happened at 9-11," says Dr. Ahmad.

The case garnered national attention, with both Aref and Hossain accused of supporting terrorism.

Dr. Ahmad says his book gives the real story of what happened to Aref and Hossain, a story he says is much different than the government's.

Dr. Ahamd says the men were branded as terrorists, and his mosque a terrorist center. He ultimately believes both men were set up.

But he says what's even more damaging is a 15 year prison sentence, forcing the men's children to grow up fatherless.

"This is a tremendous pressure and a tremendous psychological blow on their life," says Dr. Ahmad.

Also important to the mosque leader is giving those who read his book a look at how Muslims fit into the United States, amidst what he sees as widespread biases that are difficult to wash away.

"The big picture here is that Muslims are very hard working people," says Dr. Ahmad. "They have no time for terrorism. They want a piece of America."

However Dr. Ahmad says daily life encounters in Albany aren't as confrontational as in other parts of the country.

"Had there been no 9-11, we would be treated very differently."

The proceeds from the sale of the book will go to a fund established by Dr. Ahmad to help pay for the education of Yassin Aref's four children.

Greece:After Rioting, Muslims Play Victim Card

After days of rioting in Greece over a rumor of a Koran being desecrated Muslim leaders there do what Muslims do the best. They played the victim card and said that they are marginalized. The bottom line is that if Muslims are not allowed to dominate a country they will complain that they are marginalized or oppressed. My advice is for non-Muslims to live life as they know it, let them whine.

May 26, 2009
Greek muslims 'marginalised'
ATHENS - RELIGIOUS elders in Athens fear that the city's long-marginalised Muslims are a 'timebomb' waiting to explode after a sudden eruption of violence offered a glimpse at their sense of anger and frustration.

Two days of clashes late last week, which broke out during a rally by around 1,000 Muslims in the Greek capital, followed claims that a police officer had torn up an Iraqi migrant's pocket Koran excerpt during an identity check.

More than a dozen people were injured, scores of cars vandalised and a handful of shops had their windows smashed. Police made 46 arrests.

Although the lid was soon placed on the violence, Muslim leaders who condemned the unrest also warned the state must act quickly to reverse the sense of marginalisation.

Thousands of Muslims from Arab nations, Africa and the Indian subcontinent now live and work in Athens, often scraping by with meagre wages and in squalid accommodation.

A long-standing grievance is that despite years of promises the Greek state has provided no official prayer sites, forcing the faithful to set up makeshift mosques in rented flats and disused warehouses.

Naim El Gadour, chairman of the Muslim Union of Greece says there are over 100 unlicensed prayer sites in Athens and hundreds of thousands of Muslims, not counting Albanians and illegal migrants.

A staunchly Orthodox state with bitter memories of four centuries of Ottoman Turkish rule, Greece currently offers sanctioned Muslim religious sites only near its northeastern border with Turkey where a Muslim minority of Turkish origin lives.

All traces of Islam were eradicated in Athens in the early 19th century when Christianity was restored, and bureaucratic wrangling and opposition from church leaders and mayors have stalled plans for a mosque and cemetery.

'We see no mosque, we see no cemetery, basically they are making fools of us,' says Abu Mahmoud, a Moroccan who has lived in Greece since 1985. 'The situation in Athens is getting worse because of the economic crisis which is hitting foreigners the hardest, and the city centre has become a jungle as a result.' -- AFP

Muslim Student Seeks Trial in Mental Health Court

This is a follow up to the "Muslim Woman who Played the Victim Card~Pleads Not Guilty" story. She had originally claimed that she was the victim of an anti-Islamic hate crime. The police had arrested her as the alleged crime never took place. Now she has played another victim card and has asked to be tried in a mental health court.

Muslim student seeks trial in mental health court
May 13, 2009

A Muslim student who allegedly made a false claim last year that she was attacked on the campus of Elmhurst College by a masked man making anti-Islamic slurs applied today to have her disorderly conduct case transferred to DuPage County mental health court.

Safia Jilani, 19, of Oak Brook, reported on Oct. 9 that she was beaten by a man with a gun in the college's science center. Elmhurst police said no such attack took place, and charges were filed against her.

"This young adult has had medical issues in the past that could have led to this episode," said defense attorney Terry Ekl, who said he has turned over a medical report to prosecutors. He declined to specify the medical condition.

DuPage County mental health court allows a defendant to plead guilty to a crime, agree to receive whatever treatment a judge orders, and then eventually have the charges dismissed if the treatment is successful.

Her request will be ruled on June 26.

If convicted of disorderly conduct, she faces up to three years in prison.

Ekl said she has received treatment for her condition in past years and noted that she has no criminal history. She was expelled from the school following the incident.
