UK: Islamists 'promote jihad in jail'

Just like the hatred that is being preached in the UK Sharia Courts, the hatred stemming from Islam is circulating throughout the UK prison system. This is no surprise though, but if this were not such a serious issue this article could be deemed comical. The authorities have stated that they have it all under control. Meanwhile hate preaching Muslims are actually getting themselves on Islamic TV shows while still in prison. Does reality exist anymore over there?

Islamists 'promote jihad in jail'

Radical Muslims are spreading extremist propaganda and promoting jihad from inside UK jails, a report has claimed.

Counter-extremism think tank the Quilliam Foundation said radicals were also being allowed to lead prayers.

And its report said extremist cleric Abu Qatada had issued fatwas from Long Lartin prison in Worcestershire where he is awaiting deportation.

The Ministry of Justice said it had a dedicated unit to tackle the risk of extremism and radicalisation in prison.

Messages released

The Quilliam Foundation said the study, to be published on Monday, was based largely on accounts sneaked out of prisons by high-profile extremists.

The report said: "Prominent pro al-Qaeda ideologues such as Abu Qatada have been able to smuggle messages out of prison to their supporters.

"Other convicted extremists have issued pro-jihadist statements from prison while others have appeared on Islamic TV stations from within prison.

"In 2008 and 2009, two of the most prominent Arab jihadists imprisoned in the UK released pro-jihadist propaganda and fatwas from within Long Lartin prison.

"Adel Abdel Bary, a leader of Egyptian Islamic Jihad, produced written pro-jihadist tracts from within prison aiming to refute criticism of al-Qaeda, while Abu Qatada issued fatwas from within prison which legitimised jihadist attacks worldwide."

Mid-Worcestershire MP Peter Luff, whose constituency includes Long Lartin, plans to raise the report's findings with Home Secretary Alan Johnson and Justice Secretary Jack Straw.

'Deeply dangerous'

Mr Luff said: "In my view the courts have, in the past, failed to protect us by allowing the release of dangerous individuals from Long Lartin and other prisons, and by delaying the deportation of many others.

"While these deeply dangerous men remain in British custody, we must be absolutely confident that they can do no harm - and these revelations suggest we cannot be confident of that.

"The government must move quickly to address the exceptionally serious issues this report raises."

The Ministry of Justice said the Quilliam Foundation did not contact the department and did not apply to visit any jails or speak to prison staff.

A spokeswoman said: "We are extremely skilled in managing all challenging and dangerous criminals, and adapting to evolving risks and dangers.

"We run a dedicated, expert unit which leads work to tackle the risk of extremism and radicalisation in prison.

"All our high-security prisons operate enhanced monitoring and intelligence-gathering on those convicted or suspected of involvement in terrorism or extremism."

UK:Muslims Could get own Police

The legal system in the UK has constantly catered to Muslims. They already have their own Sharia Courts and now they might get their own religious police division. But nothing the Brits do surprises me anymore.

MUSLIMS COULD GET OWN POLICE
Thursday July 23,2009
By Katherine Fenech
MUSLIM crime victims could gain the right to have their cases overseen by police from their own religion, it emerged last night.

Police in London already give victims the right to ask for a Sikh officer to be involved in an investigation but the scheme could be introduced for other religions elsewhere.

Chief Supt Joanna Young, from the Met’s Criminal Justice Policy Unit, said: “If it’s a success, I would encourage the other (police) associations to do likewise.”

The project is intended to help investigate “honour” killings and forced marriages but Metropolitan Police Federation chairman Peter Smyth said: “We’re stretched thin enough already. Are Sikh officers going to have their rotas changed so there’s always one on duty?

“It’s political correctness gone mad. We talking about the creation of a separate force within a force.”

But Palbinder Singh, chairman of the Metropolitan Police Sikh Association, said: “I don’t believe a white officer is ever going to be fully conversant with a Sikh.”

ACLU Sues Prison Over Muslim Prayers

For the second time in just over a week the Christianity erasing ACLU has taken a stand for the religion of Islam. The first case involved one of the five pillars of Islam~zakat. (Giving to charities)

ACLU sues over limits on Muslim prayers in prison
By CHARLES WILSON

INDIANAPOLIS (AP) — Two Muslim inmates held in a special unit at the federal prison in Terre Haute say they aren't allowed to pray in groups as often as their religion commands and have asked a federal judge to ease worship limits imposed by the Bureau of Prisons.

The prison in western Indiana houses several high-security inmates, including American-born Taliban soldier John Walker Lindh, who is serving a 20-year sentence for aiding Afghanistan's now-defunct Taliban government.

The June 16 lawsuit filed by the American Civil Liberties Union of Indiana challenges limits on Islamic worship in the prison's restrictive Communications Management Unit, where about 30 of the 40 inmates are Muslim.

Muslims are required to pray five times a day, but the lawsuit, filed on behalf of inmates Enaam Arnaout and Randall T. Royer, says inmates in the CMU are allowed to pray as a group just one hour a week. The ACLU claims that violates a federal law barring the government from restricting religious activities without showing a compelling need.

The lawsuit echoes a 2007 complaint from convicted shoe bomber Richard Reid that he was denied access to group prayer at the Supermax federal prison in Florence, Colo.

The Indiana lawsuit is one of two the ACLU has filed in the past week concerning conditions in the CMU. Its other lawsuit claimed the unit was created in secrecy and keeps its mostly Muslim inmates in virtual isolation.

A Justice Department spokesman said last week that the government followed federal rules in creating the special unit in November 2006. Designed to house prisoners who require additional security, the unit closely monitors inmates' outside contacts.

Bureau of Prisons officials declined Tuesday comment on the prayer lawsuit.

Ken Falk, legal director of the ACLU of Indiana, questioned policies allowing prisoners out of their cells to watch television, play cards or engage in other group activities but limiting group worship to one hour on Fridays.

"That means four people can sit around the table playing cards or talking about the basketball game but they can't worship," Falk said.

Lindh's attorney George Harris confirmed Tuesday that Lindh, a convert to Islam, is held in the CMU. He declined to comment on the lawsuit or say whether Lindh has had problems practicing his religion at the prison.

The lawsuit asks the Bureau of Prisons to reinstate daily prayers that were held in a multipurpose room for several months after the CMU opened.

Louay Safi, director of leadership development with the Plainfield-based Islamic Society of North America, said Muslims try to pray in groups whenever possible.

"Muhammad said there is a much greater reward for people who pray in congregation than those who pray individually," he said.

Arnaout, 46, a Syrian-born U.S. citizen, is serving a 10-year sentence for racketeering after admitting in 2003 that he defrauded donors to his Benevolence International Foundation by diverting some of the money to Islamic military groups in Bosnia and Chechnya.

Royer, 36, a former spokesman for the Muslim American Society, is serving 20 years for his participation in what prosecutors called a "Virginia jihad network." The group used paintball games in 2000 and 2001 as military training in preparation for holy war against nations deemed hostile to Islam, prosecutors say.

UK Prison:Gives Muslims Cells With no Non-Believers

Apparently the UK does not think that Islam has changed their country enough. So they want to make it more Islamic. In the past UK prisons actually went out of the way to move the toilets so that they did not face Mecca, and as usual Muslims have just moved on to their next demand.

Muslim prisoners get their own cells after sharing row
By IAN GALLAGHER
21st June 2009

A prison has agreed to give Muslims their own cells after they complained about sharing with other inmates.

They were said to be unhappy at praying and eating near non-Muslims at Birmingham’s Winson Green jail.

It is thought to be the first time inmates have been segregated by religion. Prison bosses have decided to place them with other Muslims, or give them single cells when space is available.

More than 1,400 inmates, including murderers and robbers, are housed at the jail.

‘So far around 15 Muslim inmates have been accommodated either by being moved to a cell with another Muslim or put on their own,’ said a prison source. ‘They initially asked for their own wing but this was turned down.’

In June 2006, a High Court judge warned that Ministers must find cash to cope with growing prison numbers and called for an end to forced cell sharing. Mr Justice Keith’s concerns were included in his report into the racist murder of Asian prisoner Zahid Mubarek by his cellmate Robert Stewart at Feltham Young Offenders’ Institution in West London.

The judge called for a new concept of ‘institutional religious intolerance’ to combat prejudice against Muslim inmates.

There has also been concern among the 200-strong Muslim contingent in Winson Green about the halal meat served there. It had been prepared on site but, after complaints, is now brought in by an authorised supplier at what is thought to be extra cost.

One prison officer said: ‘This has caused resentment because it is felt the Muslim inmates are getting special treatment.’

A Prison Service spokesman said: ‘Prisoner requests to share cells can be accommodated in some circumstances, such as prisoners sharing religious and dietary needs. All requests are subject to a risk assessment.’

About ten per cent of the 80,000-strong jail population in England and Wales is Muslim.

2nd Muslim in Colorado Supermax Prison on Hunger Strike

Just this morning I posted about convicted Islamic terrorist the "shoe-bomber" being on a hunger strike and having a lawsuit pending against the prison that he is in. Today a report has come out stating that there is another convicted Islamic terrorist in the same prison who is also on a hunger strike. This is a plan to get attention, garner sympathy and an attempt to make our prison officers look like the bad guys. Maybe it is time to give all convicted terrorists the death penalty. They are not worth the hassle.

Canadian hunger striker being force fed in U.S. prison

A Canadian serving a life sentence in the United States for terrorism is being force-fed through the nose after going on a hunger strike, his lawyer said on Tuesday.

Mohammed Mansour Jabarah has refused to eat since mid-April and prison officials are allegedly pumping food into his stomach using a tube inserted in his nose.

The convicted al-Qaeda terrorist is protesting restrictions on his mail, his lawyer said, but his father said Jabarah and other Muslim inmates also want to pray together.

The U.S. Bureau of Prisons declined to comment for privacy reasons. Prison officials can intervene when a hunger striker's life is at risk but the force-feeding of inmates is controversial.

"They shove a tube up your nose down into your throat," said Kenneth Paul, the lawyer who represented Jabarah at his trial in New York. "It's like torture."

He said the prison officials begin force-feeding once an inmate has lost a certain percentage of body weight. The feeding is done by a physician or a physicians' aide, he said.

Jabarah, 27, immigrated to Canada from Kuwait as a boy. After graduating from high school in St. Catharines, Ont., in 2000, he travelled to Afghanistan, where he trained at Osama bin Laden's camps.

He was one of a small core of dedicated terrorists who formally joined al-Qaeda by swearing an oath to bin Laden. In 2001, Bin Laden sent Jabarah to Khalid Sheikh Mohamed, the architect of the 9/11 attacks, who gave him additional training in Pakistan and tasked him to bomb the American and Israeli embassies in Singapore.

Before the attack could be executed, Jabarah was arrested in Oman and brought back to Ontario by Canadian Security Intelligence Service officers. He later surrendered voluntarily to U.S. officials and pleaded guilty to charges in New York.

In 2007, the Security Intelligence Review Committee scolded CSIS for violating Jabarah's rights by arbitrarily detaining him and helping transfer him into U.S. custody without consulting a defence lawyer.

U.S. prosecutors argued he was irredeemably devoted to the cause of bin Laden. As proof they cited a letter in which he wrote, "And if they release me, then I will kill until I am killed."

A sentencing memorandum claimed that while feigning cooperation with investigators, Jabarah had plotted to kill the FBI agents and prosecutors working on his case, stashing away steak knives and nylon rope as well as bomb plans.

He was sentenced to life imprisonment last January. His appeal was dismissed. He is serving his sentence at one of the country's most secure prisons, 145 kilometres south of Denver.

Last March, Jabarah filed a complained against U.S. justice and prison officials, blaming them for his depression and other health problems. In the complaint, he accused officials of withholding family mail, including a Koran, for up to 41 months.

"I know that he was objecting to mail restrictions," Mr. Paul said. "He was not getting his mail, his mail was not going out, it would take forever to get mail that was mailed to him many, many, many months earlier.

"I think that that's the basis for the hunger strike and I don't know if it's limited to just mail. I think there are several issues that are being violated by the Bureau of Prisons," he said. Canadian consular officials are aware of the hunger strike, he added.

His father Mansour Jabarah, who now lives in Kuwait City, said in an e-mail that his son wanted to be able to phone his family and attend group prayers. "He and the other Muslims in his section would like to be able to pray together, especially Friday prayer."

"Shoe-Bomber" on Hunger Strike

Convicted Islamic terrorist the "shoe-bomber" has been well trained as he is fully working the system and has even filed a typical Islamic lawsuit against the prison for religious discrimination. Part of Bin Laden's plan is to break us financially and these Muslim lawsuits are part of it.

"Shoe-bomber" Reid on hunger strike in U.S. prison

By Keith Coffman and Robert Boczkiewicz
DENVER (Reuters) – Convicted "shoe-bomber" Richard Reid, who was found guilty in 2003of trying to blow up a transatlantic jetliner, has been refusing food for several weeks and is being force fed, court documents showed on Tuesday.

Traci Billingsley, spokeswoman at federal prison headquarters in Washington, D.C., said the bureau does not comment on inmates' conditions and would not say whether Reid's hunger strike is related to a lawsuit he has filed against prison officials.

Reid's lawsuit alleges prison authorities have repeatedly prevented him from following the tenets of his Sunni Muslim faith. A U.S. District Court judge in Denver recently denied the authorities' request to throw out Reid's lawsuit.

Reid, 35, has refused food since March at the Supermax prison, the United States' highest-security federal lockup, 90 miles south of Denver, a federal government lawyer said in the court filings.

The government attorney, in a previously undisclosed court filing dated April 14, wrote that prison officials determined on April 7 "that medical intervention was necessary" and Reid was being force fed and hydrated.

He had refused 58 meals by April 9, the attorney said in the documents.
In an update court filing last Friday, the government attorney wrote that Reid remains on the hunger strike and that prison officials continue to monitor his condition.

Reid was sentenced in 2003 in federal court in Boston for trying to ignite two bombs in his shoes on a Paris-to-Miami flight on American Airlines. He was subdued by passengers before he could detonate the explosives.

The Supermax facility houses the most notorious federal inmates including Ramzi Yousef, convicted of the 1993 World Trade Center bombing, and Unabomber Theodore Kaczynski.

FOX News Eric Shawn Bows to his Saudi Master~Video

Robert Spencer of Jihad Watch was on FOX News this morning, discussing the Islamic conversions of US inmates . When Mr.Spencer tells the audience how the Saudis are behind much of the Islamic hatred being preached, Eric Shawn the news reporter cuts him right off in defense of the hate preaching Saudis. The same Saudis who are slowly bringing down the West with Islam. Mr.Shawn would your reaction have anything to do with the fact that a Saudi owns part of FOX News? Mr. Spencer was great as usual, while Mr. Shawn was pathetic.

At the 4:00 mark, stuttering Eric comes to the rescue of our Saudi "allies".

US:Muslim Sues Prison for Halal Meat

As usual we get another dose of Muslims trying to force non-Muslims to accommodate Islam. This time a Muslim named Ricardo Collins is suing the Connecticut state prison because he has been denied halal meat. As of now a prison spokesman has stated that they do not have to serve halal meat. Hopefully they will stick to their guns and not cave in like they did in Wyoming.

Conn. inmate sues to get halal meat
A Connecticut prison inmate has sued the state, claiming that his religious freedom as a Muslim has been violated by the lack of halal meat.

Ricardo Collins filed the lawsuit in U.S. District Court on Dec. 23, The Hartford Courant reported.

"I am a American Muslim and I am being denied the halal meat for the two Islamic feast days," Collins said in his complaint. "The halal meat for the two feasts have great 'spiritual meaning' to the Muslim community all over the world."

The named defendants include Corrections Commissioner Theresa Lantz and other officials, including chaplains at the Corrigan-Radgowski correctional facility in Uncasville.

Collins was sentenced to 70 years after he was convicted of killing a man in Bridgeport in 2002. He recently won an appeal granting him a new trial.

Brian Garnett, a spokesman for the prison system, said that it meets the requirements set down by a court decision that ruled that New Jersey prisons were not required to serve halal meat, which has been slaughtered according to religious rules.

UK Prison:Islamic Foot Baths YES, Jesus NO

Christian leaders in the UK continue to bow down to Islam as if they have no concern for their own religion. This time a new multi-faith prayer room in a UK prison is set to open with Islamic foot washing baths installed, but a Christian crucifix with Jesus nailed to it will not be used out fear of offending the Muslim prisoners. This all came about after a conversation between the prison's chaplain and Imam.

A new prison chapel has been stopped from having a crucifix in case it offends Muslims.

Dec 2008
The multi-faith room at HMP Lewes will have footbaths installed so Muslim inmates can wash their feet before prayers.

For Christians, however, there will now only be a plain wooden cross and a portable altar which can be removed if other faiths are using the room.

The new £200,000 development at the East Sussex jail has been designed as a multi-faith room with the space split into two.

One side is dedicated to Christian worship and the other is for other faiths in the 485 inmate category B jail.

But a spokeswoman from the Independent Monitoring Board (IMB) revealed the traditional Christian crucifix depicting Jesus nailed to the cross will not be used.
After discussions between the prison chaplain and Muslim imam it was agreed a toned-down wooden cross would be used instead of a crucifix.

Zsa Roggendorff, chair of the nearby Ford HMP IMB, could not understand why the crucifix has been taken out of the chapel.

She said: "At Ford we have a multi-faith chapel and all are prisoners are allowed to use it.

"We still have our cross and we have the altar. All the other faiths have got their own special rooms in huts to use which are part of the main prison."

A portable alter will also be used at HMP Lewes so it can be removed when it is not needed while footbaths have been installed so Muslim inmates can wash their feet before prayers.

Amanda Hamblin, chair of the Lewes IMB, said: "We see this as a vastly improved facility and very much welcome the fact that the prison has an imam
"It is key that everyone will have access to a decent place of worship whether they are Muslims, Christians or any other faith.

"I think the significant thing about this is that the facilities were very poor before.

"Now they have been set up with a lot of consultation and thought given to how to make it fit for purpose, fit for access and fit for the religious needs of our prisoners, whatever they may be."

The multi-faith room was dedicated on December 5 but has not yet been opened for use.

Wyoming Prison Caves to Islam

The ACLU has successfully gotten the Wyoming Department of Corrections to cater to the demands of its Muslim prisoners. Originally prisoners had to eat their meals within twenty minutes of delivery of that meal. This conflicted with the prayer times of the Muslims prisoners. So now Muslim prisoners are allowed to keep their meals in their cells until the next one is served, allowing them to stick with their prayer schedule. The prison is also installing special microwave ovens which prisoners are not allowed to put pork in. As pork is considered unclean according to the rules of Islam. What is next, moving the toilets to accommodate Islam, like the UK did?
