UK Prison:Gives Muslims Cells With no Non-Believers

Apparently the UK does not think that Islam has changed their country enough. So they want to make it more Islamic. In the past UK prisons actually went out of the way to move the toilets so that they did not face Mecca, and as usual Muslims have just moved on to their next demand.

Muslim prisoners get their own cells after sharing row

A prison has agreed to give Muslims their own cells after they complained about sharing with other inmates.

They were said to be unhappy at praying and eating near non-Muslims at Birmingham’s Winson Green jail.

It is thought to be the first time inmates have been segregated by religion. Prison bosses have decided to place them with other Muslims, or give them single cells when space is available.

More than 1,400 inmates, including murderers and robbers, are housed at the jail.

‘So far around 15 Muslim inmates have been accommodated either by being moved to a cell with another Muslim or put on their own,’ said a prison source. ‘They initially asked for their own wing but this was turned down.’

In June 2006, a High Court judge warned that Ministers must find cash to cope with growing prison numbers and called for an end to forced cell sharing. Mr Justice Keith’s concerns were included in his report into the racist murder of Asian prisoner Zahid Mubarek by his cellmate Robert Stewart at Feltham Young Offenders’ Institution in West London.

The judge called for a new concept of ‘institutional religious intolerance’ to combat prejudice against Muslim inmates.

There has also been concern among the 200-strong Muslim contingent in Winson Green about the halal meat served there. It had been prepared on site but, after complaints, is now brought in by an authorised supplier at what is thought to be extra cost.

One prison officer said: ‘This has caused resentment because it is felt the Muslim inmates are getting special treatment.’

A Prison Service spokesman said: ‘Prisoner requests to share cells can be accommodated in some circumstances, such as prisoners sharing religious and dietary needs. All requests are subject to a risk assessment.’

About ten per cent of the 80,000-strong jail population in England and Wales is Muslim.

NY Muslims Openly Call for Attacks on non-Muslims~Video

In the past I have posted videos from NY based RevolutionMuslim.com. In the last one they preached for Muslims to understand the terms of engagement in jihad. Now they have stepped up their rhetoric and stated that Muslims need to use "your limbs, your bodies, their weapons, to promote the religion of Allah" and then finally a straight out call to "attack" the kafir. This man is obviously dangerous and needs to be locked up.

Just two days ago Iran's Supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei had issued a warning to the "defeated" candidate of the election Mir Hossein Mousavi. Toe the party line or else. Today he has stepped up his warning and judging from this article I do not think that there will be a third.

Witnesses report fierce clashes on Tehran streets

TEHRAN, Iran – Police beat protesters and fired tear gas and water cannons at thousands who rallied Saturday in open defiance of Iran's clerical government, sharply escalating the most serious internal conflict since the 1979 Islamic Revolution.

Eyewitnesses described fierce clashes after some 3,000 protesters, many wearing black, chanted "Death to the dictator!" and "Death to dictatorship!" near Revolution Square in downtown Tehran. Police fired tear gas, water cannons and guns but it was not clear if they were firing live ammunition.

Some protesters appeared to be fighting back, setting fire to militia members' motorcycles, witnesses said. Helicopters hovered, ambulances raced through the streets and black smoke rose over the city.

Police and militia were blocking protesters from gathering on the main thoroughfare running east from Revolution Square to Freedom Square, the witnesses said.

A massive rally in Freedom Square Monday set off three consecutive days of protests demanding the government cancel and rerun June 12 elections that ended with a declaration of overwhelming victory for hardline President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad.

Reformist presidential candidate Mir Hossein Mousavi says he won and Ahmadinejad stole the election through widespread fraud. Mousavi has not been seen since or issued public comment since a rally Thursday.

Web sites run by Mousavi supporters had said he planned to post a message, but there was no statement by the time of the planned street protests at 4 p.m. (7:30 a.m. EDT, 1130 GMT). Some pro-reform Web sites called for people to take to the streets.

Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei sternly warned opposition leaders Friday to end street protests or be held responsible for "the bloodshed, the violence and rioting" to come. The statement effectively closed the door to Mousavi's demand for a new election, ratcheting up the possibility of a violent confrontation.

Michigan Supreme Court Kicks Islam in the you Know What!

For the second time in just three months the Michigan court system has put Islam under its boot heel. The first was when the courts said that Islamic divorcees are not legal in Michigan.

A supreme court ruling in Michigan now gives judges the authority over how witnesses dress in court, an issue that came about after a Muslim woman refused to remove her veil while testifying.

The judge argued he needed to see her face to judge her truthfulness, but local Muslims say the coverings are not just a religious sign, they are a religious obligation for women.

"If a nun would have done it, people wouldn't make remarks on that on why she had to remove. If nun can wear it. Same thing. They're supposed to where, Muslim women, they're supposed to wear it," says practicing Muslim Behzad Shah who lives in Tallahassee.

Shah says he does agree, if it's the law, people should obey.

Currently Florida and Georgia do not have this court ruling.

Recently President Obama had the Department of Justice issue a statement which was basically a license for Muslims to advance their religion across America. In the meantime France which is being overrun by Islam is changing course and starting to push back against the Islamic threat.

The French government says it may impose restrictions on wearing the burqa, or face-and-body-covering veil, if a parliamentary probe finds the garment degrading for women. The burqa debate is dividing politicians and the Muslim community.

Government spokesman Luc Chatel became the latest politician to wade into a growing debate over the burqa in France, telling French television on Friday the government may consider curbs on wearing the head-to-toe garment if it is found to be degrading for women.

A group of nearly 60 French lawmakers are asking for a parliamentary panel to consider restrictions on the burqa, which is also called the niqab.

Burqas are not at all common in France, but women can occasionally be spotted wearing them in the streets. And in this staunchly secular country, the garment has sparked a fierce debate, dividing the center right government and even the Muslim community. Many, like immigration minister Eric Besson, are airing their views in a series of radio and television interviews.

Besson is against banning the burqa. He says France already bars female civil servants from wearing veils or headscarves to work and girls wearing them to school. He supports education and dialogue, rather than more laws, to persuade women from wearing burqas.

But Cities minister Fadela Amera - a Muslim of Algerian background - is for legislation.

Amara says it's important to fight against extremism and she supports banning the burqa in France.

The head of the Paris Grand Mosque, Dalil Boubakeur, is also against the burqa.

Boubakeur says that Islam in France must be an open Islam. He says there's no need for women to hide behind the veil. But France's main French Council for the Muslim Religion is against a parliamentary inquiry into wearing the burqa, saying it stigmatizes Islam and Muslims.

The debate over the veil is an old one in France. The government's 2004 ban on headscarves and other religious symbols in public schools was highly controversial. Other European countries are also troubled by the burqa. The Dutch government for one has been pushing for a law to ban it.

While Muslims in America who are preaching for jihad are dangerous, the ones who use our freedoms against us to slowly change the country to suit Islam are the more dangerous ones.

It's not easy having to choose between religion and education. Some would even say it's not fair.

But for those people whose religious holidays aren't recognized by the public school system, that's the choice they have to make.

Yesterday, the City Council's Education Committee advocated to eliminate that dilemma -- at least for Muslim families. The committee passed a resolution that would call upon the city Department of Education to incorporate two major Muslim holidays into the school calendar. The committee has also been pushing for the introduction of a state law that would require schools to close on those two days.

The 10-1 vote, with Councilman Oliver Koppell (D-Bronx) voting no, came with concerns from some council members that giving children two more days off would negatively impact their education. Some said they were voting in favor with the hope that the school calendar would be extended so students wouldn't lose out on classroom time.

The two holidays are Eid ul-Fitr, a day of giving thanks, and Eid ul-Adha, a day of remembrance.

"This is about being inclusive," said Education Committee Chairman Robert Jackson. "This is about the city of New York being flexible to understand that the diversity of our city is complimented when we can include all holidays into the school calendar."

Officials said the resolution will come before the entire City Council on June 30.

Iran's Supreme Leader Issues Warning to Mousavi

As the protests in Iran are gaining momentum the man with the real power there, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei has issued a warning to the "defeated" candidate of the election Mir Hossein Mousavi. Toe the party line or else.

The moderate Iranian leader who says that he was robbed of victory in last week’s presidential election faces a fateful choice today: support the regime or be cast out.

Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, Iran’s Supreme Leader, has told Mir Hossein Mousavi to stand beside him as he uses Friday prayers at Tehran University to call for national unity. An army of Basiji — Islamic volunteer militiamen — is also expected to be bussed in to support the Supreme Leader.

The demand was made at a meeting this week with representatives of all three candidates who claim that the poll was rigged, and it puts Mr Mousavi on the spot. He has become the figurehead of a popular movement that is mounting huge demonstrations daily against the “theft” of last Friday’s election by President Ahmadinejad, the ayatollah’s protégé.

Mr Mousavi, 67, is a creature of the political Establishment — a former revolutionary and prime minister who would like to liberalise Iranian politics but has never challenged the system in the way his followers are doing. It was unclear last night what he would do or even whether the protests would die away if he backed down. Yesterday tens of thousands of demonstrators packed into the Imam Khomeini Square in Tehran — named after the founder of the Islamic Republic — for another massive rally, this one to mourn protesters killed in Monday’s clashes with pro-government militias.

Men, women and children from all backgrounds came dressed in black, with green wristbands, the colour of the Mousavi campaign, and staged a two-hour vigil. Some held banners bearing the names or pictures of the dead, and placards proclaiming “My martyred brother, we will get back your vote” or “We have not had people killed to compromise and accept a doctored ballot box”.

There was near silence until Mr Mousavi arrived with his wife, Zahra Rahnavard, and the throng broke into chants of “Mousavi! We support you!” With almost ecstatic fervour, the traditional lament for Shia Islam’s most important martyr, “Ya Hussein! was answered by the defeated presidential candidate’s forenames “Mir Hossein!

Mr Mousavi was accompanied by Mehdi Karoubi, another of the defeated candidates. He attempted to speak from the top of a car using a loudhailer, but few could hear him.

As the protesters departed just before dusk they left behind little shrines of black candles placed around photographs of the dead. “It encourages us to follow their path, fighting for the vote,” one woman said.

It was the sixth day of demonstrations and first to be held in the poorer south-central district, an apparent effort to dispel notions that the protesters are middle-class or pro-Western.

The Guardian Council, a body of 12 senior clerics whom the Supreme Leader has asked to investigate claims of electoral fraud, said it had received 646 complaints of irregularities. It has invited Mr Mousavi and the other two candidates challenging Mr Ahmadinejad — Mr Karoubi and Mohsen Rezai — to set out their grievances tomorrow and will decide on Sunday whether to order a recount. Nobody believes that it will. The Supreme Leader controls the council and is widely believed to have asked it to investigate as a way to play for time.

Mr Ahmadinejad defended the vote, telling a Cabinet meeting yesterday that “the ideals of the Islamic Revolution were the winners”.
