“Breast cancer advocates from the United States and across the Middle East are meeting in Egypt from October 21-27 for breast cancer awareness events. There have been reports that some of the invited participants would not be allowed to attend these events. Susan G. Komen for the Cure has now received confirmation that all advocates, regardless of their country of origin, are invited to fully participate in events to bring breast cancer to the forefront of public discussion in the Middle East.
After we received the initial report on the situation, we launched a diplomatic effort to ensure they would be able to participate. I am pleased to report that our efforts led to confirmation that all advocates would be welcome to participate in the events.
Susan G. Komen for the Cure remains steadfast in our mission to save lives and end breast cancer forever.
Apparently it more important to keep the Israelis out, then obtain their knowledge on such a serious issue. This fits right in with the recent day of hatred towards Israel that Cleric Yusuf Al Qaradawi called for.

US Org. Hosts Cancer Meet, Israelis not Welcome by Maayana Miskin
(IsraelNN.com) A United States-based organization's conference on breast cancer awareness, to be hosted in Egypt, has been touted by international news networks as an example of “unprecedented cooperation” in the region. However, according to Channel 2 news, the celebration of unity may be premature, as Israeli doctors were told at the last minute that their invitations to participate had been rescinded.
The conference will be held in Alexandria, Egypt this week, under the auspices of the American group Susan G. Komen for the Cure – the world's largest breast cancer advocacy organization. It is to include meetings between leading researchers from the U.S. and several Mideast countries.
Israeli doctors were invited to the event as well, and several had planned to attend. However, on Sunday night, the doctors received brief notices telling them that they were no longer invited to the conference, by order of Egyptian Health Minister Hatem el-Gabali.
The notices did not include an explanation of Gabali's decision.
Despite the cancellation of the Israeli presence at the event, Egyptian officials continued to praise the event as an example of regional cooperation. “The week's events are a demonstration of the cooperation between countries, governments, civil society, advocates, survivors, and the global community as a whole,” Dr. Mohammed Shaalan of Egypt's Breast Cancer Foundation told Reuters on Monday. “It shows that breast cancer has no boundaries and reveals the beauty of the world's unity in its fight against breast cancer.”

EGYPT: Cleric calls for 'Friday of anger' against Al Aqsa violations October 6, 2009
The head of the International Union for Muslim Scholars, Yusuf Al Qaradawi, is urging Egyptians to turn this Friday into a nationwide day of anger against the "Israeli practices at the Aqsa mosque in Jerusalem."
The Qatar-based cleric flew to Egypt from Doha on Monday to deliver a speech at the Egyptian Journalists' Syndicate in Cairo, where he condemned the Arab governments' silence towards the "violation of Al Aqsa's holiness" by Israeli settlers and occupation forces.
Tensions erupted in the area known as Al Haram Al Sharif to Muslims and the Temple Mount to Jews last week when a group of non-Muslims entered the compound, which is the third holiest venue in Islam and the most important in Judaism.
While Israeli authorities said that the group was composed of French tourists, Palestinians believed that they were Israeli extremists entering the mosque in celebration of the Jewish Sukkot festival. Further confrontations took place Sunday as tens of Palestinians entered the mosque overnight amid rumors that larger numbers of Israelis will be allowed to enter the mosque, before Israeli forces shut down the holy site.
Muslims under 50 years old were later banned from praying inside the mosque and on Monday, thousands of Jewish worshipers prayed at the Western wall below Al Aqsa for religious celebrations.
Qaradawi, who is well-known for his controversial fatwas, urged all Egyptian clerics to dedicate Friday prayer speeches to showing solidarity with Al Aqsa and asking Muslims to gather for peaceful protests afterward.
The outspoken cleric is famous for once calling Jews a profligate, cunning and arrogant band of people. He has long been in support of Palestinian suicide bombers and previously said that the Holocaust was God's punishment to Jews for their corruption.
Qaradawi wasn’t the only cleric to criticize Arab regimes for their "passiveness" against "Israeli violations." A number of religious scholars said that the Arab and Muslim world should rush to defend the sacred Aqsa from repeated "Zionist assaults."
For the second time in less than two weeks, the Palestinians have acted up over the Temple Mount Compound. Last time it was because some Jews went to pray there, this time over a simple rumor. Amazing how a rumor sets Muslims off.
Fresh clashes at Jerusalem shrine
Palestinians have clashed with Israeli police in Jerusalem after police closed a compound with sites sacred to Jews and Muslims, citing security concerns.
The protesters threw stones and bottles at the police, who responded with tear gas and stun grenades.
Several Palestinians are reported to have been detained, including a former minister, Hatem Abdulqader.
The Israeli police said they had closed the compound because Palestinians had planned a mass gathering there.
Palestinians say they are trying to protect the site, known to Muslims as the Haram al-Sharif and to Jews as the Temple Mount, from Jewish hardliners, who they fear intend to desecrate it.
There were reports of three arrests, and several police and protesters were slightly injured.
Police closed off the sites after mosque loudspeakers in Jerusalem's Old City urged people to gather there, following rumours that Jewish settlers were to be allowed into the compound.
"We closed the access to the Temple Mount following incitations to violence," police spokesman Micky Rosenfeld told AFP news agency.
The incident follows similar protests a week ago in which 30 people were injured. Security has been boosted at the compound as Jews attend prayers for the seven-day Feast of Tabernacles at the Western Wall.
In the past the compound has been a flashpoint for Israel-Palestinian violence, notably after the visit of then Israeli opposition leader Ariel Sharon in 2000.

Palestinian protesters attempt to stop a Jewish prayer event outside the Al Aqsa mosque in Jerusalem's Old City, where such events are normally banned. By Richard Boudreaux September 28, 2009
Reporting from Jerusalem - Israeli riot police entered the grounds of Islam's third-holiest shrine Sunday and fired tear gas and stun grenades to disperse rock-throwing Palestinians who had gathered to prevent Jews from praying at the contested site in Jerusalem's Old City.
The 45-minute clash outside the Al Aqsa mosque underscored the volatility of Jerusalem's holy places in the decades-old Middle East conflict. It sparked protests by Jordan, the 22-member Arab League and the Palestinian Authority, which is engaged in U.S.-mediated efforts to revive peace talks with Israel.
Palestinian leaders called the Israeli police action a deliberate provocation. Police officials said Palestinians started the fight.
Seventeen police officers were reported hurt and 11 Palestinians arrested as the violence spilled into the narrow streets of the Old City and beyond. Medics said eight Palestinians were treated at hospitals.
The trouble started after about 200 religious Jews gathered outside the Old City's Dung Gate, intent on entering to pray in the compound revered by Jews as the Temple Mount and by Muslims as the Noble Sanctuary. Waiting near the mosque were about 150 Palestinian protesters who had been summoned by religious and civic leaders to block the Jews.
About 7 a.m., the gate opened and at least 70 police officers in riot gear escorted about 15 civilians inside, and fierce clashes ensued, witnesses said.
Initially police said they were escorting Jewish worshipers; later a police spokesman, Shmuel Ben Ruby, said the group was made up of non-Jewish French tourists.
Dmitri Diliani, a Palestinian Christian among the protesters, said at least two members of the escorted group wore kippahs, the skullcaps of observant Jewish men. Other protesters said they were convinced the police were ushering members of Israel's settler movement, whose communities on West Bank land claimed by the Palestinians are a source of contention.
Whoever they were, they quickly retreated as Palestinians began hurling rocks, chairs and shoes, according to Diliani and other witnesses.
Police pushed the Palestinians across a hilltop esplanade toward the mosque, where some of the protesters took refuge.
As other demonstrators tried to prevent the police from approaching the mosque, Muslim clerics arranged a truce, and the police left.
Religious and nationalist sentiment has made the site a tinderbox. Muslims believe the prophet Muhammad ascended to heaven from the spot, which is also home to the gilded Dome of the Rock shrine. Jews revere the place as the site of their first and second temples.
A visit in 2000 by Ariel Sharon, then Israel's opposition leader and later its prime minister, helped spark a violent Palestinian uprising. But forceful, large-scale Israeli police interventions in the compound are rare; Sunday's was the third in five years.
The site has been under Israeli control since its capture from Jordan in the 1967 Middle East War, but it is administered by a Muslim religious trust.
Under an agreement with the trust, Israelis may enter the compound under police escort but are barred from holding organized prayer sessions like the one planned for Sunday. In the face of such attempts in the past, Israeli police closed off access to the compound to prevent clashes.
By permitting an exception Sunday, said Palestinian negotiator Saeb Erekat, Israel "is deliberately escalating tensions in Jerusalem," where Palestinians want to locate the capital of a future state.
"The fate of Jerusalem lies in negotiations," he said. "It will not be decided by violence or brutality."
Sunday's violence erupted as Jews prepared for Yom Kippur, the Day of Atonement, which started at sundown. It did not affect Jewish prayers at the Western Wall, at the foot of the compound.
Hamas Complains, So U.N. School Will Not Teach Gaza Students About Holocaust Thursday, September 03, 2009 By Patrick Goodenough, International Editor
(CNSNews.com) – The United Nations’ refugee agency for Palestinians does not intend to include the Holocaust in the curriculum at schools it runs in the Gaza Strip, a U.N. spokesman said following criticism by Hamas about the purported plan.
While Hamas’ objections to including information on the Holocaust in school lesson plans was not particularly surprising, some Jewish organizations have taken issue with the U.N. for apparently backtracking in the face of the criticism from the terrorist group that rules Gaza.
The U.N. Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA), operates more than 600 schools in the Gaza Strip, the West Bank, Syria, Jordan and Lebanon, with around 200,000 children enrolled in Gaza.
Early this week, a Hamas refugee committee wrote to the agency, complaining about what it said were plans to teach children in Gaza about the Holocaust.
“[We] refuse to let our children be taught this lie created by the Jews and intensified by their media,” the letter read, according to the Palestinian news agency, Ma’an.
“First of all, [the Holocaust] is not a fact, and secondly, those who added it to the curriculum intended to mess with our children’s emotions.”
But a spokesman for U.N. Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon, Farhan Haq, told a briefing in New York Tuesday that, according to UNRWA, “the Holocaust is not included in the curriculum in Gaza."
In my daily Internet travels I occasionally come across articles written by American Muslims which are clearly written to put a positive spin on Islam. Clearly written by an Islamic propagandist. Since the information aspect is a big part of this war, I will start exposing these authors as I come across them. My first in the series was "My Exchange With Hollywood Filmmaker Kamran Pasha" .
His article promotes the new book "Besa: Muslims who Saved Jews in World War II". The story is about Albanian Muslim families that protected Jews during the Holocaust. I applaud them for doing this, but individual acts of kindness by some Muslims does not change the fact that Islam itself promotes hatred of Jews. Judging from Patel's past articles, providing a smokescreen for Islam is why this article was written.
Of course Patel failed to mention several important facts. Patel makes no mention what so ever that the Mufti of Jerusalem played a big role in the Holocaust.
The Mufti was one of the initiators of the systematic extermination of European Jewry and had been a collaborator and adviser of Eichmann and Himmler in the execution of this plan. ... He was one of Eichmann's best friends and had constantly incited him to accelerate the extermination measures. I heard him say, accompanied by Eichmann, he had visited incognito the gas chamber of Auschwitz.
Another day....another complaint by Muslims. Recently over a dozen US Islamic organizations have made it clear that they do not care for how the authorities handle the threat of Islamic terrorism. American Muslims have now added a Seattle police training program to their list of complaints. All because the program is run by a by a Jewish organization.
Muslims criticize producers of Seattle police training program The Seattle Police Department is going ahead with a racial-awareness training program that some local Muslims object to — not because of its content, but because of its sponsor, the Los Angeles-based Simon Wiesenthal Center.
By Janet I. Tu Seattle Times staff reporter Saying it's not going to take sides in someone else's feud, the Seattle Police Department is going ahead with a racial-awareness training program that has raised concerns among some local Muslims.
They are troubled not by the content of the training program but by the organization that produced it: the Simon Wiesenthal Center, a 32-year-old Los Angeles-based Jewish human-rights organization perhaps best known for its Holocaust education work.
They accuse the Wiesenthal Center of spreading fear toward Islam by producing or promoting films about extremism within Islam. And they, like many other Muslims elsewhere, are also angry at the center for building a Museum of Tolerance in Jerusalem partially on top of what once was an ancient Muslim cemetery.
"The center has an anti-Muslim agenda, to be frank," contends Arsalan Bukhari, president of the Washington state chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations.
The Wiesenthal Center disagrees.
The disputed land on which the Jerusalem museum is being built has been used as a parking lot for about the past 50 years, according to the center. And Liebe Geft, director of the center's Museum of Tolerance in Los Angeles, says the films in question take on anti-Semitism and the dangers of a small subsection of Islam, not Islam as a whole.
The center "does not condemn Islam. It actively confronts Islamophobia," Geft said.
The Seattle Police Department got caught in the middle when it began looking for a training program for employees on race issues.
It found Perspectives on Profiling, a Wiesenthal Center program geared toward people in law enforcement. The program features interactive exercises and vignettes on CD-ROM of real-life scenarios officers might encounter.
The goal is to make officers more conscious of what and how they think about race, and how their thinking might affect the split-second decisions they make on the streets every day.
The department considered other programs but "this was far and away the best quality," said Deputy Chief Clark Kimerer. The cost was also "remarkably low," he said: about $18,000.
Nationwide, about 17,900 officers have gone through Perspectives on Profiling training at the Wiesenthal Center's facilities in Los Angeles and New York.
An additional 24 organizations have purchased the program. And about 100,000 people have gone through the Wiesenthal Center's broader programs for law enforcement, Geft said.
So far, about 28 people from the Seattle Police Department have been through the training program. Some will, in turn, train the rest of the department's employees, starting perhaps as early as this fall.
In time, the department also hopes to offer the training to the community at large.
That decision disappoints a local coalition composed of mainly Muslims, but including people of other faiths as well.
They say Seattle police should not be undertaking training sponsored by a group they believe is spreading fear of Muslims, regardless of how good the training is.
They point to, for instance, the center producing the film "Ever Again," which the Museum of Tolerance describes as exposing "the dangerous Islamic extremism and culture of death being preached from the mosques of Europe's major cities."
Geft, the Museum of Tolerance director, says moderate Muslims who criticize extremists have prominent voices in the film and "every exhibit in the museum does the same. We don't want to leave the image of the radical extremist representing all Muslims."
At one point, Seattle police considered asking the Wiesenthal Center to remove its name from the training here — a course of action the department ultimately decided not to follow.
While respecting that people feel strongly about the issue, "we can't put ourselves in the middle," Kimerer said. "Our goal is to find the best quality training."
(IsraelNN.com) For the second time in less than a week, a packed Brooklyn, New York, synagogue has been the target of threats of violence by intruders.
On Monday, according to Yeshiva World News, an Arab man in his mid-30s entered Boro Park's 'Sephardish Shul' and began making proclamations of jihad. Members of a Jewish volunteer security organization, the Shomrim, apprehended the threatening individual. They held him until police officers arrived at the scene, arresting the suspect. Detectives spoke with the "Middle Eastern man" at a station house near the synagogue.
Police officials reminded the community, "If you see something, say something." Security in Brooklyn's heavily Jewish Boro Park area has been stepped up during the Purim holiday.
Just two days earlier, a man wielding a butcher's knife burst into a Kerestir Chassidic synagogue in Williamsburg. He initially turned up unarmed and began throwing soda cans at the gathered worshipers, which hit one of them, and returned shortly thereafter with the bladed weapon.
The attacker was prevented from using the butcher's knife on anyone by a young man, described as a "friend" of the knife-wielding intruder, who then fled together with him.
The recent attacks come just over a month after Chabad-Lubavitch World Headquarters at 770 Eastern Parkway in Brooklyn was targeted in a series of English-language jihadist videos posted on the Internet. http://www.israelnationalnews.com/News/News.aspx/129790 The videos and accompanying texts singled out "770," but also intimated that all Orthodox Jewish organizations were equally worthy of attack by Muslims. The threatening material included images of the 770 synagogue and study house, pictures of the police van out front, and indications of which parts of the building are crowded at what times.
The source of the thinly-veiled threats, a group called Revolution Muslim, is domestic to the United States.
Once again we have Jews extending their hand to Muslims and once again Muslims turn around and stab them in the back.
Hevron: Muslim Worshipers Desecrate Holy Texts

(IsraelNN.com) Muslims in the city of Hevron were allowed to access the entire Tomb of the Patriarchs (Maarat HaMachpelah) this week in honor of the birthday of Mohammed, whom Muslims revere as a prophet. Worshipers took advantage of the opportunity to desecrate Jewish holy texts, including prayer books and books of Psalms.
The damage was discovered on Monday when Jews were allowed to return to the prayer halls usually set aside for Jewish use. The desecration caused upset and anger among the returning Jewish worshipers.
Jewish community spokesman David Wilder said such damage is unfortunately common. Jews have often returned after Muslims made use of the entire holy place to discover ruined holy books, damaged mezuzah cases and other destruction, he said. Jews try to remove all holy objects from the sanctuary before turning it over to Muslim use, he explained, but books are occasionally accidentally left behind.
The damage is not accidental, however, Wilder clarified. “They know exactly what it is that they are doing,” he said of those who destroy the holy texts.
The IDF is aware of such incidents, he added, as video cameras in the building allow them to see what takes place in the prayer halls. “It's very unfortunate that more care isn't taken to prevent these things from happening,” he said.
Hevron's Jews are now calling on the IDF to refuse the next request for Muslim access to the Jewish prayer halls. If the desecration is not met with punishment, such acts will continue, they say.
Over the past few months we have seen the hatred for Israel and Jews rise across the West. There have even been the usual calls for the boycotting of Israeli/Jewish products. Well to be honest the world would literally shut down if we did that. Their products range from Intel computer chips, Microsoft Windows to high tech medical inventions. Oh yea, the Israelis invented one more product, cellphones. Cellphones which Islamic terrorists use to detonate bombs with. So terrorists please start your boycott.
Surprisingly President Obama is doing the right thing and boycotting the Durban II Jewish hate fest. Although this does not make up for him putting money into the hands of our enemies and supporting Sharia law.
U.S. pulling out of ‘Durban II’ conference By Ron Kampeas · February 27, 2009 WASHINGTON (JTA) -- The Obama administration has decided to boycott the so-called Durban II conference out of concerns for anti-Semitism.
Multiple sources on a conference call with the White House on Friday told JTA that the Obama administration had opted not to attend any further preparatory meetings ahead of the planned U.N. conference against racism in Geneva in April.
The conference reprises the 2001 conference in Durban, South Africa that devolved into an anti-Jewish free-for-all. Canada and Israel have opted not to attend the conference, and some U.S. Jewish groups had been pressing the United States to do the same.
Preparations for a draft document so far have seen Iran leading a coterie of nations blocking inclusion of anything that might guarantee Jewish protections – including mention of the Holocaust – while inserting draconian language guarding Islam against "insult."
The State Department sent a delegation, including a senior staffer from the American Jewish Committee, to this month's preparatory talks. The delegation's conclusions were that the anti-Israel and anti-Western tendencies were too deeply entrenched to excise.
Now that the United States is withdrawing from the conference, European nations are expected to follow.
Speaking for the White House on Friday's call were Samantha Power and James Warlick, who handle international organizations for, respectively, the national security council and the State Department; and Jennifer Simon, an adviser to Susan Rice, the U.S. envoy to the United Nations.
Back in late January I posted about a pro-Israel rally in Sweden. At the rally the Jewish protesters had eggs and a teargas grenade thrown at them. On Sunday the brave Jews took to the streets one more time. In response the Muslims stepped up their hateful efforts by firing rockets and throwing pipe bombs towards the pro-Israel crowd. Islamists Fire Rockets, Hurl Bombs at Pro-Israel Crowd in Sweden
by Gil Ronen (IsraelNN.com) Islamists reached new heights of audacity in a face-off with pro-Israel demonstrators in Malmö, Sweden on Sunday, firing rockets and throwing pipe bombs at the pro-Israel group in broad daylight and under police's noses. No one was hurt. The incident was videotaped by Swedish blogger Ted Ekeroth.
Between 400 and 500 people gathered in Stortorget Square for a peaceful pro-Israeli protest.
The police sealed off the entire square and only allowed in the protesters, as well as a smaller group of Islamists, and separated the two groups from each other.
Blogger Ekeroth wrote: "It didn't take long until they started attacking us, this time with homemade pipebombs and fireworks. The homemade bombs were pretty powerful, as I stood not too far away when one of them exploded. According to what I heard, the police managed to arrest the ones that threw the bombs. However, they did not disperse the Arab crowd…"
In total, Ekeroth reported, the Islamists threw two pipe bombs, fired two rockets and hurled some glass bottles. The bombs did not reach the pro-Israel protesters but the rockets exploded over their heads.
The largest newspaper in the south, Sydsvenskan, chose to "distort and bend the truth," Ekeroth reported. The news item about the confrontation was headlined “Several arrested during Israel demonstration” and, amazingly, reported that "The expected violence did not occur."
The pattern of physical and verbal assaults on Jews by Muslims continues across the world from Europe to the US, and finally to Israel with the latest victim being an American Jew who went there to study.
US student knifed by Arabs in e. J'lem By ETGAR LEFKOVITS AND TORI CHEIFETZ An American student studying in Jerusalem was attacked and moderately wounded early Sunday morning by three Arab teens after he got lost in east Jerusalem, police and rescue officials said.
The 19-year-old Jewish student, who is studying on "The Israel Experience" program, told police that he was assaulted by three Arab teens on his way back to Hebrew University's Mount Scopus dorms after visiting a friend in the city, Jerusalem police spokesman Asi Aharoni said.
The student, who was slashed in the neck and cheek with a utility knife, said that he was attacked by the three after he asked them in Hebrew how to get back to the university, Aharoni said.
The student, who managed to escape his attackers, made his way to a nearby gas station, and was rushed by Magen David Adom medics to Jerusalem's Shaare Zedek Hospital, where he was listed in stable condition.
A Magen David Adom paramedic said that the student was lucky that the attackers did not hit a blood vessel or his situation would have been much worse.
The 1:00 a.m attack took place in the east Jerusalem neighborhood of Ras el-Amud outside the walled Old City of Jerusalem, the police said.
It was not immediately clear how the student ended up in an Arab area which is not near the university. The student would not talk to a reporter at the hospital on Sunday.
The assailants in the night-time attack remain at large.
The student was expected to give police a full report on the attack later Sunday.
The name of the student, who is from Washington DC, was not immediately released since his parents who are in the US have not been notified of the attack.
Once again we see how Muslims will use the freedoms of the West against us. This is why Muslims should not be put into positions of power in the first place as they will just use the power to advance their Islamic agenda.

Lord Nazir Ahmed is one of Britain's most prominent Muslim leaders. This week, he questioned the British government about concerns that British Jews may have served in the Israeli Defense Force during Operation Cast Lead - the three-week bombardment of Gaza.
Lord Ahmed's questions have brought attention to an issue that has significant legal and political implications but which few want to discuss in public.
The following is an exclusive Press TV interview with Lord Ahmed:
Press TV: Lord Nazir Ahmed, you raised question in Parliament about the legal implications of British Jews serving in the IDF. What was the response?
Lord Ahmed: I asked Her Majesty's government if they were aware of British citizens who may have been involved with the war crimes committed by the Israeli Defense Force and Israeli Defense Reserves. Her Majesty's government did not have any figures because dual nationals do not have to inform the government. However, there are reports in the Daily Mirror and The Sun with the names of British citizens who have been fighting in Gaza.
The point I was making is that war crimes have been committed, white phosphorous has been used and if there are people who have broken the 4th Geneva Convention, then whoever they are, when they return to this country, they should be arrested and charged - unlike the Major General who escaped in 2005.
Press TV: Are you certain these are up to date reports about British citizens serving in Israel?
Lord Ahmed: These are very new reports, dated January 2009, of British citizens who have gone out to fight against the Palestinian people as part of the IDF. Their names and ages are mentioned in these reports.
We know that there are student unions that have been actively recruiting young people in Britain to join the Israeli Defense Force and we also know that there are young Jewish students who go and serve on the kibbutz and also in schools, who are also then doing national service in Israel.
How many of those have been involved in war crimes? How many of those have broken the Geneva Convention? When they come back to this country, we want our government to take some legal action against them.
Press TV: Will our government take such action?
Lord Ahmed: Yes - if there is evidence and if the United Nations is strong enough. At the moment they have not even decided how they are going to conduct this independent investigation into the use of white phosphorous and other weapons prohibited by the United Nations.
There is very clear evidence that the 4th Geneva Convention has been breached - we know there was collective punishment, excessive and disproportionate use of force against civilians and deliberate attacks on schools, hospitals and ambulances. There have even been attacks on UNRWA personnel and warehouses.
If the United Nations makes a statement or if someone goes to the courts and gets an order against these people then I am sure the government has to take some legal action.
Press TV: Were you surprised by the response from the government?
Lord Ahmed: I am not surprised at all. Lord Malloch-Brown did actually say that if there is any evidence of the 4th Geneva Convention being breached, and it doesn't matter whether they are British citizens or whether they are other nationalities, these people will be arrested and they will be tried in this country.
Press TV: How do you think the British Jewish community will react to such a move?
Lord Ahmed: Well the reaction was very obvious. One of their lordships got up and started to praise the British citizens who were fighting in Gaza. He said: shouldn't we be proud of the fact they are fighting against terrorists who are hell bent on trying to destroy Israel.
But they are not fighting against a terrorist organization as such. The IDF and those who serve in it have been involved in the massacre of civilians, including hundreds of Palestinian children and attacks on the United Nations and even the American school. There is just no excuse for anyone to get away from these war crimes this time.
Press TV: Is this situation comparable to British Muslims allegedly going to fight in foreign conflicts?
Lord Ahmed: There have been many government statements with regards to British Muslims going abroad to foreign madrasahs and then seeking training. There was a huge outcry across the board - from government officials, politicians and civil society.
Of course, we do not support anyone who has been involved with terrorism or killing of innocent civilians anywhere, or those who fight British troops abroad.
However, to me there is no difference whether the young person is from a Jewish background or Muslim background. The only difference is that one has a uniform and the other does not. Both kill innocent civilians. Both need to be brought justice.
This is why Baroness Tongue asked the question about the number of British youth who go to religious Jewish schools and also the kibbutz. In this case, it is a double standard to allow young British citizens of whatever religion, who go to religious schools and then get involved in armed conflicts and join a terrorist state.
The very fact that in both cases, they kill innocent civilians, including children warrants a fresh look at this issue, as was recommended by Lord Wallace of Saltaire.
Press TV: Are you expecting any progress now that you have raised the issue?
Lord Ahmed: My intention was to bring this matter to the attention of parliament. The second was to discuss this openly in the media. It has always been a taboo to ask any questions about Jewish youth who go to Israel for training and service in the IDF.
We have received a government statement. Now, it is for the legal experts to take it up in the courts and to make sure the government takes legal action against people who may have been in breach of international law.
As a general point, I was surprised by how the entire British society was moved by this crisis. In almost every town and city, people went out to demonstrate against the bombing and killing of innocent civilians. They put pressure on the government and at least the government has done a few things such as taking the resolution to the UN.
But more importantly, I have definitely seen the mood amongst British politicians change to become more openly critical of the Israeli government. Unfortunately, that is not the same in Europe.
We went to see the President of the European Parliament and met with a number of Members of the European Parliament who feel that Germany, Austria and France and other parts of Europe still have guilt in relation to the Holocaust. That is why Israel can get away with anything it wants.
We know that very fine members of parliament like Gerald Kaufman MP, who is himself Jewish, very openly said that just because these people were victims of the Holocaust does not mean they should perpetrate another holocaust on the Palestinian people.
We need to speak out and support Jews, like Gerald Kaufman and Jews for Justice for Palestine, who have been supporting the Palestinians.
Many of us have been saying for years that no matter what the Jews do it will not stop the hatred towards Jews stemming from the Islamic world. Apparently stopping their military campaign in Gaza was not enough, as the Jews in Golders Green are being threatened with death by the local Islamic community.

London - The Jewish community in Golders Green has been the target of further anti-Semitic attacks, in the form of more offensive graffiti.
Graffiti reading "Kill the filthy Jews" was daubed on walls and pavements near Golders Green tube station and vandals wrote "Jihad 4 Israel" on top of Holocaust Memorial Day adverts.
Golders Green residents have unanimously condemned the ongoing hate crimes, which have risen up in the wake of the Gaza conflict.
"The graffiti is revolting," said one woman from Hampstead Way. "The conflict in Gaza is awful but people here have nothing to do with it. I want to call the police - this has to be reported. But what can you do when you are dealing with fanatics?" Gabriella Lauffer, 22, from Golders Green, said: "The graffiti just comes down to anti-Semitism. Gaza is an excuse for anti-Semites to attack Jews."
Joseph Haziza, 27, manager of Menachem Kosher butchers which is next to Sinclair Grove on Golders Green road, said: "In this area of Golders Green the graffiti hasn't been as bad. Further up the Golders Green Road they have been affected, with Muslims coming into Jewish shops and saying: 'I'm going to kill you'.
"I don't wear my cuple [skull cap] when I'm out and about. I don't want to be started on."
Barnet police tried to reassure the community. A spokesman said: "We have a policy that once incidents such as these are reported we clean it up within 24 hours. There are an increased number of graffiti incidents and we have a team in place to respond as quickly as possible."
And a spokesman for the Community Security Trust, which works to safeguard Jewish communities in the UK, said: "CST has been notified of well over 150 anti-Semitic incidents throughout Britain, by far the worst wave of anti-Semitism in recent decades.
"Barnet is of course home to one of Britain's largest, most visible and most vibrant Jewish communities and therefore many of the anti-Semitic attacks reported to CST have occurred in the neighbourhood.
"The reaction from council and police has been largely excellent, and together we are all determined to ensure that the Jewish community in Barnet is able to conduct its lawful way of life."

Several weeks ago it was reported from Copenhagen Denmark that Jews will be encouraged not to enroll their children into certain public schools. The reason being that the schools had a high number of Arabs in them. Now we see that the concerns for the safety of the Jewish children of Europe is getting more problematic, as Jewish schools in the UK are hiring ex-soldiers to guard the schools against Islamic attacks. Where does this all end?

A staff member at North West London Jewish Day School said the premises now resembles a military barracks. He added: "Many of the security staff served in armies in specialist units."
